Okay, don't let the actual time of the video scare you, it's really only about 39 minutes, the end part is just Q&A you can afford to skip. Ben Shapiro, editor at large for Breitbart.com and author of "Bullies: How the Left's Culture of Fear and Intimidation Silences Americans", gives an excellent speech on how to actually argue with the left. It's really good and I already put some of his tactics to use today. Check it out:

Just finished. This was a good view. It's really the third point that I think people don't remember to use. I took a mandatory public speaking course, and if there was one thing I really took away from it, it was body language and non-verbal cues.

There's nothing that can crush a liberal quicker in front of an audience than you being completely calm and irreverent with their arguments. Essentially laugh them off while strategically dismantling them, and then explain your reasoning without any hint of aggression or trepidation.

Good addition, Ronin - very instructive and useful. I just wish I could be as fast on my toes as Mr. Schapiro.

That's my problem: I need time to think things through and come up with examples, and this is not good for debate. Usually on the drive home hours later, I can come up with 10 facts to backup my position. Never fails.

That's where I find debate online to be useful. You practice putting your arguments together and bouncing them back and forth so you've already "rehearsed" your argument and talking points when you're face-to-face with a nutjob liberal. It can also have the added advantage of making your calmer (and therefore more irritating to said nutjob liberal) because you're mentally walking through your talking points rather than letting him get you mad with his irritating drivel and nonsense.
