Got a new Springfield Loaded from the bullseye.net today. Brandon's a great guy and I highly recommend him.

I ran a couple magazines through her without a problem and headed over to the rifle range to play with my new AK. A little while later my brother comes over and says the 1911 is jamming. Considering the reputation of Springfield i knew something was wrong.

I racked the slide, pulled the trigger and got a pop with no recoil. That didn't seem right. 51267

I looked at the casing and thought WTF?!? How did that happen? After looking at the casing a couple more times I thought to myself that the casing didn't look right so I flipped it over and sure as shit it was a .40 and not a .45. My brother loaded the ammo for my Glock 27 in the 1911.

I emptied the magazines and loaded them up with the right stuff. She went bang flawlessly every time after that.

It would have been interesting had the round not fired, another round was chambered and then fired.
I have seen that on a SIG when a 9mm was chambered in a 40. Gent pulled the trigger. Click. Racks the slide not realizing the 9mm was still in the chamber. Fresh 40 round is chambered and trigger pulled.
Quite the bulged barrel.

First & foremost, I'm glad no one was injured. Secondly, I think it's a good show of how much abuse a gun will take. I am tinkering around with building a custom 1911 in a rather "bad ass" cartridge. The only issue I need to research is if the 1911 .40 caliber frames have the same magazine well as the .45 ACP.

Had a friend trying to load 9mm into my 40 when I first bought it. He caught what he was doing and quickly apologized.

I'm thinking a 5 min. snuggie-noggie combo is in order for your brother. Then ask him if he learned something.

I had an Australian do that do one of mine. It was a colt defender and the ejector dissapeared. Other then that gun still worked.

Went to the range with my buddy once and he mixed his g19 mags with my g23 mags and I accidentally sent a few 9mm rounds through my 23. Small pop and no recoil, but hey shit happens.
