I've got cards that I want to get rid of and was wondering if any of you know of a business that could give me a value on these things? I know nothing about this market and how things work and it'd take me too long to research value LE online. Any help or local contacts would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I'd do an ebay and collector search for values. Unfortunately what they list for and sell are worlds apart. I have a few different collectables from knives to old glassware. While books and on line show 1 thing the market / buyers are paying less than 50% value, if that. Unless you have a signed Gordy Howe farm team in wrap ;)

Go to a sports card store and find a Beckett. They usually have prices on all cards from a set. Thats how I used to look up values when I was a kid.

They have a website too: http://www.beckett.com/
