View Full Version : Any one in the springs good with transmissions? Ford C4 issue.
I have a bit of experience with C4 transmissions. I have rebuilt a few without any issues. I am running into an issue with one my brother bought. Its a PA pro comp C4 with transbrake, fully rollerized. We pulled it apart to put new clutches, steels and intermediate band in. Pulled it apart everything looked good, the old clutches and steels has a few he spots but nothing crazy. So we replaced the clutches steels and band. but when I bolt the pump up the input shaft will not turn. if I loosen the pump up it turns fine. I have pulled it apart a few times and made sure all thrust washers are in place( I used Vaseline to hold them in place) everything looks right, but something is binding it up and I cant figure out what.
Any Ideas? If anyone know someone in the springs that could help that would be awesome.
dang, I guess I am on my own :(

You could ask Zetnick.
PM the bobster
Everything turns free until you bolt the pump up ? What is the history of the trans run low on fluid just a freshen up. Sounds like there is an issue with pump to me. Doesn't the procomp have lifetime warranty through PA ? I assume he isn't the original owner ?
You may also want to check clickclickracing.com there are a lot of smart guys over there that can help chances are better then not.

One we rebuilt in school did that, I think the shaft was bent ever so slightly iirc.
Got your pm,and sent one back.
I'll take a look see.I'm no tranny expert but it could be something simple.

on a side note, I always think of that picture when the service writers call it a stall, instead of a bay.
