I've gone through a couple and sold them as my guns/needs have changed over time.

Pros: Stout. The red triangle reticle is SUPER FAST for the eye to pick up on any magnification. Very, very bright.
Cons: The triangle reticle has a post underneath it which can make it hard to do holdovers properly.

If you want something fast for ranges where holdover isn't gonna be necessary, but want some magnification to help ID targets, it's a great choice.

If Trijicon made an Accupoint with the ACOG horseshoe reticle with the BDC stadia, it'd be awesome. Unfortunately they don't seem to want to cannibalize their ACOG sales.

It is what I got with my new LaRue PretatAR AR-10. With the LaRue mount it comes off and goes back on and is back to zero. I use this for all intensive purposes for my "iron sites" for this weapon. I am planning on a different scope for long range fun and hunting.

My three round groups from 100 yards. The orange was not much larger than the cross hair dot at 4 magnification. I have the standard duplex cross hair with green dot. It was helpful to be able to dial up or down the amount of light to help brighten the glow of dot.

I have a Accupoint 1-4 in German#4 Cross hair in green that sits on a rifle I haven't used in a while, If Interested I could let it go for a good price let me know. But here’s my experience with it. I bought it as my first 3gun rifle scope and used it for my first 2 years. It worked great and clear glass at 4x. Then i drank the koolaid about oh now I needed a BDC for 3gun, So I replaced it with a Vortex Gen-1 Razor. Immediately the thing I miss the most was the always on and Bright center dot. Honestly not a lot to say against the scope itself.

They actually came out with one like that not to long ago, its called a VCOG... Hope you don't mind maxing a credit limit for one :)

It's not really the same thing though, since it's battery powered and doesn't have the fiber optic. And it's a complete pig when it comes to weight.

And yeah, that price tag. ouch.

I have one in the triange/post reticle configuration. Zero complaints other than the aforementioned holdover issue with the post. Used it in Afghanistan and loved it.

Thanks for the input gents.

I didn't think about the post being a factor with hold over. I normally just run 100 yrds and in. Never really do much over 300, but like to stay proficient out to 300. How much does that post cover at 300 yrds on a human size target?

It will look like open sites at 300 yards but the bright red or green dot will really help you focus.
