We always see the news sites posting up surveys on gun control, and they almost always end up in our favor. Nice to see a more scientifically conducted survey showing the same thing.

Gallup is pretty respectable, this is interesting to read. (What was up in 1959?? - that was before the Kennedy/MLK deaths, etc. )

Perhaps some subjects are getting wiser?!?![Flower]
Should be 95% on our side, 5% in favor of more strict laws. Can't help those who Dont want to help themselves those though...

I think the results of this poll are promising, but agree with sniper7 - the results should be far more favorable to the pro-gun/less regulation side of things. It is a Constitutionally-backed natural human right after all.
However, in reading the article I found that even Gallup can't help revealing their true anti-gun colors. This was revealed with this comment:
The percentage of Americans who say that handguns should not be banned is at a near-record high as well. This suggests that while shootings may still occur with disturbing regularity in the U.S., there is a disconnect between those events and support for making gun laws stricter.
While none of us likes the criminal shootings (versus the shootings that occurred for self defense), that sort of comment is intended to elicit a negative attitude towards firearms - and encourage a "more regulation" type of mindset. I'd say that Gallup should know better but I suspect they knew exactly what they were doing by including that comment into their article.
