Showing Gardner behind by ~20K votes so far. Hick has the lead by about the same, even in El Paso county which is surprising to me.

USA Today is leftist BS.

This is a conservative website, they printed the numbers for (R), (CPUSA), and (I) and have been for the last week or so. http://coloradopeakpolitics.com/2014/11/03/november-3-ballot-returns-republicans-maintain-112k-vote-lead/

The media controls the polls. In 2012 They called CA for Obama. Our daughter called pissed off. She was livid wanting to know How the media could call CA for O when there was still 2+ hours til the polls closed there, seeing how she was standing in a long line there.
Same as they did during the Bush/ Cheney - Sore/ Looserman election. Called Fl 1+ hour before the panhandle polls closed, the western part of FL is central not eastern time zone.

The part that looks strange to me is that the USA Today site seems to imply that votes are already being counted.

Looks like all the data has been removed, maybe they were just testing based on the outcome they're hoping for. Sorry for the false alarm. :)

Would have been interesting to have a screen capture of that, to compare to actual results... : tinfoil:

Odd since every other news story I have seen says in terms of ballots received R outnumber D by a wide margin. Must be a lot of unaffiliated votes going to Udall.

WTF?
They are showing several counties as 100% reporting. Wow...can't wait to see when they show them reporting 125%.

I would be really curious on how they are getting and updating their data. I just watch Pueblo go from blue to red.

It's mail in ballots where results are tallied daily, now perhaps hourly.

I'm still not sure these are real results. They're showing Hick losing by a small margin and Udall winning by a large margin. It also shows 67 winning by about 100K votes and it's hard to believe that people who would vote yes on 67 would also vote for Udall.

When will they start reporting the actual votes? All I have seen so far is the returned ballot numbers.

According to the USA Today site, they are tracking votes including the amendments.

I still don't get how some counties are 100% reporting(ed). Are they saying that all the mail in ballots they have in their hands at this time have been tallied?
I just counted---30+ counties showing 100%. Not quibbling, it is USA Today after all. Just seems....odd.

Oh well...tmrw should be interesting!!!

This seems bogus since none of the local news outlets are reporting anything yet on the actual vote numbers. Where is USA Today getting the data?

I like the Clear Creek County results. 423 Votes, 100% Udall. Not one vote for anyone else? Hmmm....

I agree, it seems very strange. If real results were coming in, I would expect it to be all over the local sites.

I'm not even paying attention to ANY poll. All it does is get people worked up. In the end, we all know these preliminary numbers don't mean squat.

th3w01f

Some proof that the USA Today site is bogus and most likely just running simulations. Previously the numbers looked plausible but here's what it shows at the moment.

If they are just simulations that is poor journalism. It can definitely affect real votes.

Yes reps have a 112k lead over dems but that's only turned in ballots based on voters registration, it does not mean Beauprez is ahead by that many votes. If you notice there is a large number of unaffiliated voters listed that could take this election either direction.

I have always thought that there should not be any reporting on the results until after the election day.

There should be a media blackout until the polls in CA close. After the first debacle / hanging chad votes. the media actually floated the idea of No more exit polls, etc. Guess that one hit the circular file before morning.

I made a poll today and it said hick and Udall both lost with 0% of the vote. Of course I only polled myself and my wife. It is factual data though!

I moved here from St Louis MO... we taught Chicago how to make the dead vote and rig elections...

I think living there really killed any of my mid western optimism.. I saw the mini buses pull up "people" get off, vote and and get back on and drive off presumably to another polling place.

You're using a double ended pole, or individual one's?

berserker
11-04-2014, 07:11
At the point where the polls are within 1 or 2 percent, they are completely worthless since they have about a 9% margin of error. At that point you are basically guessing. The composite variable is the best number since it at least accounts for a larger sample size. Often the fine print in "polls" tells you the methodology was something like calling 5000 random phone numbers on a workday at 11 am, and questioning the 90 people who bothered to answer.

rondog
11-04-2014, 07:48
Ignore the polls, they're just meaningless media noise. All the papers, TV stations, websites, etc. all have to publish SOMETHING to try and get people to look at their paper/station/website. It doesn't matter to them if it's true, or accurate, or pure lies and bullshit. All that matters is "reader share", or whatever they call it. All news media sources are so left-biased and self-serving they're just useless. The only good newspapers are the ones that have comics in them.

Just my redneck opinions.
