Damn it was dark when I got off work ... I already miss daylight savings time.

Like the saying goes about just about everything else in Colorado, "just wait, it will change".
I voted but I'm used to never having windows anyway. Going to work in the dark, and going home in the dark is the norm.
While we're wishing for things, I vote for a new orbit that would allow us to have 30 hour days.
lets make it a Colorado constitutional amendment in 2016!
...only if at least 34% of it is for the K-12 initiative.

TEENS NEED MORE SLEEP! They cannot be subject to the yearly loss of 1 hour of sleep!?!?!
It is for the children!
this is so not for the children

Only the Government thinks that cutting off 3" from one end of a blanket and sewing it on the other end, makes for a longer blanket.

I hate daylight savings. And now that you all have turned your clocks back it makes it even more difficult to talk to folks back home.

Yup, me too.

Daylight savings is just pretty much stupid.
Now for a scientific explanation:

Had a customer call 8:15 and say we where late to her house for our 9am appointment. Had to inform her it was only 8:15 and not 9:15.

Isn't the customer always right?

With all things being equal, but there is no equal when it comes to me.[rockon]
I keep making my appointments too early and having to cancel them, or delay them until the frost melts off the roof.
I'm pretty much in favor of hibernation between now and the Vernal equinox. I hate the short days.

Working in the dark is the norm. Reminds me of the saying. Never work for a man with electricity in his barn, you'll be up all night.

Need a new rotational period on our planet's axis for that. A new orbit would affect how long our year is.

Good point, I don't want to affect our life expectancy.
Stu, the good news is I heard of a drug being tested that will eliminate the effects of no sleep. Pretty soon, we won't need to sleep and won't need 30 hours in a day. Yahoo!

But I like sleeping. That's where I'm a Pirate.

It's Viking!
Loose it!
I had always heard it was for the farmers/ranchers, so they could adjust to the shorter days. I'm pretty sure they could figure out when to get up in the morning. They are smart that way.
Later, I heard it was so the kids didn't have to stand at the bus stop in the dark. Who stands at the bus stop anymore? They are sitting in the parents warm car.
My vote for a new orbit would be adjust to 30 hrs on Sat and Sun only. The rest of the week can stay the same.

I know, but in my dreams I'm a Pirate. There are a few (very few) differences between me and Ralph Wiggum. I did bend my wookie once though.
What's with the two choices for getting rid of it? Why not just split the difference and call it a day? Seems like a full hour isn't granular enough for both seasons so just split it in half, add 30min back and never change the clocks again.
After all, how many Americans are hurt or killed each year climbing ladders twice a year to set their clocks? What about all the orphaned children? Who'll think o' da chirrens?!?

I'd be ok with that, if and only if the work-day remained less than 10 of those hours.
Personally, I really like Daylight Saving time because I spend most of my time outside during the evenings from May through Halloween. The extra hour I get of daylight after I get home from work is extremely helpful especially when I am cutting, splitting, and stacking my wood in the fall. I absolutely hate the winter months when it is dark in the evening and I feel confined to the house; I totally get cabin fever come February.
If we remain on standard time sunrise would be around 4am in June and sunset around 8pm, daylight time means those change to 5am and 9pm.
I get up with the sun but I'd rather get up at 5am than 4am.
Are we on standard time now, or savings time?

I kind like getting a surprise extra hour of sleep.
I think Dave Ramsey said that it is always savings time. I just hope I have some saved up for the end...I would hate to run out. I heard that it can get mighty dark until you see the light.
When I used to work permanent mid-night shift, we got an hour off with pay on the jump forward and an hour of OT for the fall back. At least that was what I remember. We midnighters were not the smartest group on the force. [Abused]

I am so against the bastard kids. That's why I voted against 68.

Hammer time.
Hammer time.
Can't touch this.
I have a highly tuned internal clock. I wake up just before my alarm goes off. Pick one and stick with it, dammit.
Stupid time changes have cost the IT industry BILLIONS. We're not using candles for lighting anymore. They're called LEDs.
Da hoe's on Colfax can't figure it out either.
