View Full Version : One of the BEST things about Tuesday's election...

...no more HARRY REID as senate majority leader. The US just became (ok...in Jan) a stronger, better country.

It just frustrates me that most of the country got to experience the joy of a Republican serge not seen since at least 92 and more likely the 1930s ... every place but here where the dems lost a few things but still control Denver. :(

We got rid of Udall and may have won control of the senate. It ain't over in the house yet, either. Overall, I'm pretty happy. It wasn't a perfect night but it was close.

^ I agree with that train of thought.

I still fear we've crossed the California line ... oh well the wife has told me she's not leaving CO unless it gets a LOT worse.

I also fear the lesson that the Dems in Denver have learned from Tuesday is that they can do whatever the f--k they want to us and we can't do anything about it ... they reversed their recall losses and I bet the next session goes much harder left. So we can expect lots of anti-capitalist stuff, stupid environmentalism stuff and probably more gun control.

How surprised were you at the recalls being reversed? Those were Dem-dominated districts, at least in Woodland Park and Pueblo. Had the Dems been smart they'd have forced Morse and Giron out before the actual vote and saved the seats, just like they did with Hudak.

As stands, the bastards will get precisely two things through the state senate, and Jack is taking a year off.

Not surprised at all, my point is how the Dems will see it though. Had we won the Gov's office and maybe taken one of the branches of the legislature we could claim a victory and that would cement the idea that the gun control was a bad idea for the health and safety of Dem pols. The way the dems will see/spin the reverse of the recalls and the failure of the GOP to take over the state in one of the single biggest Republican years in American history is that they own Colorado, lock stock and barrel. The lesson they won't learn is that they need to stop governing against the will of the people.

The upside of this is that they'll continue doing stupid lefty things that piss off the people (which will also likely keep happening at the federal level) and we can go for the clean sweep in two years ... the downside is that they can do a LOT of damage in those two years.

We still have a shot at taking the state senate as far as I know. I don't think the house or senate is official yet, though the house looks unlikely.

Sure, it's just a disappointing PR loss. Not just to have them both replaced with Dem's, but to have one of them be Bloomberg's former MAIG coordinator....
