Whitetail tag for CO

Wasn't sure I was going to be here this fall so I didn't apply for an elk or antelope tag this year. No luck getting the areas I wanted in the leftover sale in August so I picked up one of the either sex late rifle season over-the-counter Whitetail tags valid in a bunch of GMUs (pg 27 of the big game guide) and runs from 15 Nov-31 Dec.

Mule deer are plenty - are any of you seeing Whitetails?

I am seeing both in 104, which does not help...

From studying the Colorado Hunting Atlas the concentrations appear to be north and east of Denver. They seem few and far between.

I've heard some may be outside Florence/Penrose area but have yet to go verify. Just looking to narrow down my scouting area.

Pretty sure I saw a handful around Ault one evening maybe 6 months ago.

Probably 4 years ago I had a small heard come drink from my stock tank every evening for most of the summer. I thought it was pretty cool to see them out here. I haven't seen a one since. I am in 104 on the south west end.
