The post regarding NY seizing guns from an estate got me wondering. If someone in Colorado has firearms and designates in their will for them to go to specific heirs, what hoops must the heirs jump through? Background checks for multiple guns, or?

Immediate family members are exempted from the colorado background check law, and federal law exempts heirs from background checks, as well.

So, only if an heir were not an immediate family member (as defined in the colorado bgc law) would a bgc for the heir be necessary, and only for those firearms newer than 50yrs old and not classified as curios and relics.
