Hey Guys,
I was wondering if anyone on here has ever taken a tactical rifle course from Makhaira Group. I am signed up for the Tactical Rifle Level 1 course this Saturday the 22nd, and am looking forward to learning some stuff and putting some rounds down range. I will let you all know what I think of it on Sunday.

The instructor's resume of training AND experience will tell the tale. Ask who your instructor will be and make the call about whether or not you feel it is worth it to be taught by them.

Never heard of them, but I thought of this when I read the below statement.
"Headquartered in Northern Colorado, Makhaira Group (pronounced "ma-kai-ra") is the leading public safety education and training company in Colorado and the entire Rocky Mountain region, dedicated to providing solid solutions rooted in current, real-world experience. We provide training in all areas of self defense including firearms training, concealed carry certification (CHL), and tactical pistol, rifle, and shotgun."

With no AARs, I'd still ask who the instructor(s) will be.

Will do, by the way what exactly are AAR's?

After Action Report
Good group of instructors. I've taken about 8-9 classes from Mark, former Seal.

no disrespect just typing fast when I had the opportunity to reply.
Hotaling is a SEAL from TM1 in the 90's. I've never taken a class from him but he is legit and been verified. His marketing verbiage, as mentioned before is less than spectacular (I've never needed to list my "thermal breaching" abilities for a CCW course), and he is a close friend of Dudley Brown. Go to the course, learn something, have fun, make your own decision. Don't forget to post an AAR afterwards and read Mick Boy's thread on being a good student.

I know Mark personally. He's a straight up guy. No BS. He's also a Pastor in Ault. Good to go. Take his class, tell everyone what was taught and how you like it. At the very least, Mark has actually been there, done that... Tactical Rifle class is just the beginning....

Actually, he's never deployed into a 2 way range... That's been verified.

Don't know Mark, never been to his classes.
Have a co-worker that attends his classes all the time, he really likes Mark and the training he provides.
YMMV

I'll be VERY interested in hearing how it went. These guys are on my list of people to take classes from. After a stent in focusing on just competition, I'm looking to take a bunch of training courses in the next couple of years. I'll specifically be interested in what you thought of the class being indoors and if there was any limitations imposted on how the training was run because of it. Please let us know how it went.
Thanks
