Pretty much that's my question, looking at getting a 9mm M&P, I have always owned Glocks and was just wondering if they are as reliable?

Yes they are, a shitty trigger reset until you install the apex parts. Then it's a personal choice.

M&P guns are great. Their barrels tend to wear out a bit quicker than OEM Glock barrels but the are some good replacement ones available. Other than that, they are just as dependable as Glock guns but, in my very bias opinion, they have better ergonomics. BTW, the Apex trigger parts are money well spent.

Whatever you do, don't buy a FDE version of the M&P. I have one and it's useless in the winter. Frame contracts in the cold and magazines stick. Been back to S&W 2 times already and still not fixed. Seems to be more prevalent with the FDE version, specifically the Cabela's version seems to have more problems then most. Can't say I have seen any cases of this with the all black one but it's something to be aware of.

Ok the one I am looking at is a standard 9 MM I really like the looks of them and was wondering how the accuracy is?

They are likely more accurate than you are...

Very impressive accuracy. Unless you're a XXX fanboi it will be a good investment.

Went 20 years with Glocks and switched to M&Ps a few years ago. As far as reliability, yes as good as a Glock. Raced up, my M&Ps are more reliable than my raced up Glocks. The trigger can be made better than any of the other striker fired guns on the market. Accuracy, for me was poor so I stuck a KKM barrel in it and cut the group size by about 70%. It has typically been the 5" 9mms that had accuracy issues, but that has largely been resolved by changes in the geometry and twist rate from the factory. The ergonomics are very good and really enjoy shooting them.

Stay away from the ones with the 8" barrel. Because that is a revolver.

Lol, mental note, no 8"

To give a more productive reply, I've owned several Glocks and a few M&P's. In my opinion, with the exception of the factory trigger, the M&P is in every way as good as the Glock, and likely superior to most in the ergonomic department. With that said, I'm a Glock guy, not because they are better, but because I shoot them better. Truth be told, the M&P's feel better and look better in my opinion. If the day comes that I can afford buy an M&P while keeping my carry Glock, I may just shoot the heck out of the M&P until I'm equal or better than my Glock.

My Pro 9 is one of the best guns I've owned. 25yd accuracy spanks any clock I've fired, with far better ergos. Never had a failure of any kind with a clock or M&P, so no clear winner there. M&P feels similar to my 1911s in the hand, but a bit more natural point.
