View Full Version : Long Range Buddies
Looking for some like minded long range shooters that want to go practice and shoot local matches and hopefully a couple PRS matches this summer. Preferably someone who frequents Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex. I have a collection of steel and am always trying to do some mountain camping and shooting sessions. None of my friends are shooters so it is time to reach out to the forum for some shooting buddies. Getting a little bored of shooting by myself. Give me a shout if your in the same boat.
P.S. If you like beer, dirt bikes, and camping that is a plus. Really need some shooting Bro-mance, the old lady just isn't cutting it! LOL

Most of us who shoot the PRS matches shoot the local matches, 1st weekend Raton, 3rd Pueblo, 4th Colorado Rifle Club.

Just trying to find someone to go shoot with for fun on off weekends. I wish the pueblo PD matches would start again, I shot about 4 of them and then they switched to .22's. Sure wish we had some long range matches in Colorado Springs.
Patience, they will be back soon.
I camp in Divide a lot, and I have one spot where I can go out pretty far. I am definitely no expert and I am just learning the long range stuff. I have an AR(308) that I built for this purpose. I am almost done with the barrel break-in and I will start working up my load.
I wish the pueblo PD matches would start again,
January.

When the details of the new match format get worked out I will let everyone know. Still gonna be 40 shots, but target shape/size/distance will be very different. And, only 10 of the 40 shots will be prone. Bring your sticks...

What would we do without our fearless match director? LOL

I'm always down for some long range shooting only problem is only going to be here for a couple more months before I go back to the east coast where long range shooting sucks.
I do do like the Cheyenne mountain shooting complex but the have restricted most of the big fun long range toys.
I'm in for this. The comps I have gone to have been, but some free range shooting is what I'm really looking for. Got a bunch of ar500 steel need to fire up the welder and make some brackets. Right now I'm healing up from a discectomy with fusion but should be good to go around spring

They told me that .300 win mag will be allowed once they get funds to build some modifications that will limit rifle barrel elevation.

Check out last stands.com I picked a couple up last summer for my gong collection. Hit me up when it gets warm, I got a few other guys that want to do some gong shooting. I know a guy who knows a guy(LOL) that is building a 1k range on his land out east of Falcon, so hopefully that will be my new go to place to practice.
gimme a year and I'll be down.
I'm usually out there feel free to walk over as say hey
