I'm on my phone so can't post it all but here's the link

He sounds like quite the caricature [Flower]
I assume he teaches classes that are required or students take his class for the easy grade.
Ugh, nothing is worse than signing up for and paying for a class where you actually learn nothing. If I wanted to listen to some dumb asshole spout his beliefs like they were indisputable fact, then make me feel like a loser if I disagreed, I'd just log in here. :p

Some of them undoubtedly are. I've had "professors" like that before. Any effect they had wasn't permanent.

I agree, but think that many people are just like me, and can be easily persuaded by those in their environment. I have a friend who once quipped to me about how the liberal mindset works great in college, but once you enter the real world, fiscal conservatism makes a very strong case for itself. College is okay, but I think students should try and spend as little time there as possible.
I think this is a big case of news not showing whole or accurate picture. And unfortunately I think some of you jump onto it just as easily as a Liberal does about anti gun stuff.
I actually had this guy. And I loved his class. (Yes a required.) He had a few times I'd want to yell at him. But he's not completely one sided and actually hates obama. Yes he was into some stuff we on this board wouldn't believe in. But his class had some of the best inter student debates. Stuff a real Liberal nazi of a teacher wouldn't have allowed. He brought in guest speakers like a pretty high ranking costco executive.
So yes he's a liberal leaning teacher, no he doesn't force it on anyone. My friend (if he reads these boards anymore) could attest to some good examples of Liberal teachers @ front range who fail someone for leaning independant much less right.
I had teachers that I could tell were flamming liberals, but kept it to themselves. I learned a lot in those classes because there was interesting discussion, without the agenda getting in the way.

This makes me want to watch "God's not dead" again, and pretend that it was a true story...

You should tell them (and the dean)... "I appreciate that you teach from a place of reason, rather than being an A$$hole like >this guy<"\
ETA: I'm too old to give a Fv*k about what he could try to do... so when he gave this assignment, I'd tell him I'm walking out on 1st amendment issues... and walk right to the dean's office- and tell him why I expect expect a full credit and/or another professor for this course... and if he doesn't like it, all my funding is pulled...
but Hell would freeze over before I'd enroll in Metro anyway... so they'll continue to indoctrinate the masses... I'm teaching my kids the attitude I've conveyed, and if it comes to it, I'll go talk to the dean on their behalf... so far it hasn't come up.

Was the movie good?
Gonna borrow it next week from redbox.

I'm really tired and not in a particularly good mood. I stop by GD and this is the first thing I stumble across. My jimmies have achieved complete rustle.

Didn't you just write a paper for a class like this? Or what the article alleges this class is like?

That class was bad, no two bones about it. But as far as reciting anti-American propaganda and listening to rhetoric about how socialism will help us march down Pennsylvania Avenue, I lucked out. I think I would probably lose it and be escorted from the classroom if I was subjected to that horseshit.

That's why I paid the extra money to go to UCD! [Coffee]
But seriously, if I had a professor like this, I would have stayed in the class just to argue with her all day.

Theres the difference between you and lots of millenials. It seems a lot of kids don't want to leave the college life anymore.

That's not new, or confined to millennials. My dad's three sisters were what he referred to as professional students. That was the 60's through the 80's, until my grandfather cut them off and told them to get jobs. It is far easier to avoid responsibility on someone else's dime. My old man paid his own way, and made me do the same. I am very glad he did too.

I wouldn't say he's a typical Metro professor by any stretch. In my whole time there I didn't run into any Noam Chomsky type instructors. Now granted I was in the business school and had all of my gen eds done when I got there...but still I never heard about any teachers like this dude from anyone.

My minor is history and I'm still there till may so I've had my run in's. I never had this guy though. However my major is criminal justice and you see alot of consertive pro gunners in that program, with a few exceptions. So I probably shouldn't say typical.
Never ran into him while I was there. Sounds like a class I would have disliked but went to every day to try and fight the mindset.

I took a class in Modern Latin American history in the early 80s from a professor who was a die hard socialist. I think her bucket list including blowing Daniel Ortega. I think my fate was sealed when on the first day she had everyone in the class tell why they signed up for the course. Since the class was right after ROTC, I was dressed in the uniform of the oppressors, and I guess my announced reason of "learned about our enemies in order to defeat them" wasn't acceptable.

This professor reminds me of the grad student TAing for one of my poli sci classes (Problems in American National Security). Guy was a total apologist for the Soviets and negative about anything Americans did. What was interesting was the professor was to the right of Reagan so there were times he'd interject while the TA was lecturing and give him a verbal correction on some of the propaganda with an "I was there" air.
