Although I've been dubbed a Glock hooker, I have a G26 that I don't plan on parting with anytime soon, because of this I've decided to modify it to my liking.

So far I've done an extended mag release cut down to a reasonable length and stippled and notched out around the release to provide for a more positive activation. I've also done an undercut of the trigger guard, which has proven to make a huge difference on grip purchase.

I'm contemplating a full grip stipple, but haven't decided to pull the trigger yet. I've successfully done a very fine yet aggressive texture on a previous Glock, but I'm leaning more towards a larger "scale" type texture.

Mods thus far:

I was looking at my M&P the other day wishing I could do an undercut.

mcanter on here is into modding Glock frames.

You should be able to fairly easily. I used a dremel, 220 grit sandpaper, and some boot polish. Mason did a good job on his Glock.

Here is my previous stipple job:

This is the pattern I'd like to do on this one, I just don't think I have a tip that would accomplish it:

The M&P is already recessed and there isn't much more room to spare.

I'mma undercut the TG on my 26 now.

For your stipple pattern take a nail or anything that shape and grind it to suit your pattern and stuff it in the iron. Hell you can probably make a rounded flat shape out of a coat hanger. Or... If you have extra tips for your iron make a tip out of one of them.

You can also get brass screws with the same thread pattern as your current tip and grind the head into whatever shape you'd like to stipple with. Custom stippling at its finest!

Irving, there isn't a TON of room but there's enough to work with. Lots of folks are doing it to M&Ps.

That's what I was thinking, but didn't want to speak on a topic I don't have experience in.

Knocked off the finger groove today, thinking about rounding out the trigger guard, and still contemplating if I want to stipple.

Round the trigger guard. I hate those pointy things.

A little more work done, stippled the factory "texture" area. I'm still likely to do the whole grip, but finding time with two boys under the age of 2 is challenging lol.

Okay that didn't last long, I had some extra time this afternoon and now I'm half way to completing the whole grip. Stay tuned for more pics.

The pics didn't come out nearly as good as I would have liked, but I couldn't be happier with the stipple job. I may replace these pics tomorrow if I can get some better ones.

I was skeptical about removing the finger groove, as it actually fit my hand and have always felt pretty good to me, but I figured what the heck, and I couldn't be happier. Now I know why so many die hard Glock folks like first and second gen models.

Only thing left to do is round out the trigger guard.

The more I look at it, I think I'll stipple over the "made in Austria" portion.

I almost jumped into that last night, but figured I should spend a few minutes with the wife while the boys were down lol.

I understand. Chasing the wife around the house naked takes high priority at my place too. [Awesom]

Nicely done. I drink too much coffee to have the steady hand and patience for that work.

It seems like all those pores would collect a lot of dirt, but the grip must be great.

Finally got around to doing the rounded trigger guard. I was limited on time, so I'm not real satisfied with the finish, I need to hit it some more with fine grit. This will just about finish the mods on this one, I may do a smooth face trigger, but that's it.

The trigger guard looks awesome. If you want to do the smooth trigger you can just pick up the factory part from Rock Your Glock in Littleton. Unless you just want to sand your down.

Thanks Ray, I'm really pleased with the way the shape of the guard came out, I'm going to get some finer grit paper and re finish it. Thanks for the heads up on Rock your Glock, I may head down there tomorrow. I have a feeling I could get in trouble there.

Passed on going to rock your Glock for the trigger, I'll pay more for gas than shipping lol.

Did get a grip plug, and think it finishes off the pistol perfectly. So smooth trigger, Trijicon HD sights, and possibly factory extended slide lock, and this pistol will be perfect for me.

I just saw this. I'm too busy modding my pistol to actually shoot it, lol jk. Now that life is starting to settle down after the baby, I plan to buy a small stock of 9mm and hopefully hit some matches.

Ran down to "Rock your Glock", picked up a smooth trigger and a factory Glock holster. Other than new night sights, this pistol is complete.

Gawd, with all that effort getting it modded just right, why would you want to shoot it in a match? [Flower]

He could do like I do and retain the mag on every reload. [Awesom]

(Of course I just do it so I don't get penalized. No penalty for retaining a mag. Penalty if it hits the ground when it isn't supposed too.)

Not if you pick it up before the last shot. But who cares about stage times anyway?

Lol, I'm surprised I did this much to it. Other than the stipple job, this is the most I've ever done to a pistol.
