I've been keeping an eye out for a under-$200 home defense shotgun. Basically 18.5" barrel, pump action, standard stock (non pistol grip).
I missed an online deal on the H&R Pardner Pump for $140 or so. Any suggestions appreciated, or heads up if anyone sees someone selling one used.
I'd keep checking Palmetto State Armory for deals. I picked up an ATI 12g pump 3" chamber for $99. It's not the prettiest or smoothest action going, but it's been 100% and for a truck type of gun, I can't complain about the price.
Keep your eye out for either the IAC/Hawk 981 or 982 depending on whether you favor the Remington 870 or Mossberg 500. The Norinco manufactured clones are actually better than the base models of either US made shotguns, IMO.

I like my maverick 88.

Ended up with a new IAC Hawk 981, out the door including background check for $185. Was a gift for my son, and he's very happy.
