FYI 3-4 hrs to Steamboat + 1/2--1hr to Craig
I average 3 hrs. From Glenwood Springs to Elizabeth.
So if yo keep on I70 to Rifle, then N on13.
About 4.5 hrs.,but can do 65-75 most of the way.
That way you avoid Rabbit Ears Pass at least.
But 1 yr took 11 hrs. from George town to Glenwood Springs.
Early Nov storm,8? years ago.
Best of wishes

4 in the am would be better than after sunrise, the latest. OR wait till after 10. After that time you usually deal with the saturday night hung over crowd.
Prayers for your Uncle.

Depends on how inclement the weather and how much time the road crews have on road.

4 hrs if good road, no weather or construction. Patchy roads add 2 hrs, full snow pack add 3, anything worse consider not traveling.

Thanks for the info and concern guys. For those of you interested in the actual times, I found this kind of interesting. You see here the route and the speed vs altitude changes along the route. On the way up you can clearly see where I ran into weather and traffic before the tunnel and the stop I made in Kremmling. It is also interesting to see the differences on the reverse of the trip.. Denver to Kremmling was from 850AM to about 220PM. Kremmling to Denver was 745PM to 1220AM ish.

Ha, I love that software. What is it. I am used to staring at charts of individual stocks and markets all day. I could get a kick out of this.

I laugh only because my max speed either direction was 72MPH. Of course some of that was probably in 65MPH zones.

Of course no I have to climb under this thing tomorrow and spray all the mag chloride, salt, or whatever else they use on the roads off.
