Hi, I have a pardner pump with a 28" barrel. I'd like to get an 18.5" barrel for home defense. according to the H&R website you have to send your receiver in to have a barrel fitted to it, and you can only get a 20" from them. Does anyone have ideas about where to get a 18.5" or any info on building a spacer to adapt a 870 barrel? H&R says there are headspacing issues. Any info on the subject would be greatly appreciated.
Here's a start: http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?79948-Pardner-Pump-870-Barrels
Sorry, I have no direct experience.

Take your shotgun to BP tactical, he has a hacksaw & angle grinder and can turn that 28" barrel into a 18.5" one..........
Actually, he can do a pro job on reducing the barrel length and refinish. See his information in the Industry Partners section.
it's half the cost of a new shotgun one just for the barrel. Weren't they on sale for $180?

^ what he said, for as much genuine 870 barrels cost, you might as well get yourself another pardner.

Just pick up a cheapo Maverick 88 for $150-200.
