++Mod please move this thread if it is on the wrong spot.

I took an 8 hour CCW class couple years back, but since the wifey was reluctant to do so by herself, 'SHE' decided that BOTH of us should take Jim's private lesson (2ND time around for me). I must say, it worthed every second and penny. His class is not your typical text book NRA class.

The class officially was "NRA Basic Pistol Course." The exact same class I took few years back -- which typically covers:
`Pistol Handling, choices, safety, and maintenance,
`Stance & Methods of CCW,
`CO & Federal Law, Legal ramifications,
`and obviously when and how to use your firearms.

Well, Jim's class was beyond my expectation. Not only did he cover what is mentioned above, he went above and beyond. His class covered personal protection outside home which includes skills & attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and responsible use of firearms in public.

Furthermore, he went into in home self defense details. He taught us many things from arranging your furniture to disrupt line of entrance to detailed step by step response during a break-in.

In short, both wife and I are real happy with his class - not to mention how affordable it was. The class was taught in a private gun range, and at the end of the day, we shot around 1000 ammos, and walked away with great 'real life' experience/scenarios which is extremely useful in SHTF scenarios.

I felt like we took 3 different classes for the price of one. So I thank you, Jim, and will be sending many many friends and family members your way!

Could you provide some more information about Jim's classes? I am looking for a basic pistol/CCW class in the south Denver/Centennial area so I may have to take a look at him.

If you wouldn't mind providing location/price/contact info or a website, it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks for the "nice" words. you checks are in the mail!

no website, no advertising (have a busy exhausting weekday job) just word of mouth. M888 and I talked a few times, he and the missus liked what i had to say and felt comfortable. I suggested numerous qualified instructors much closer, he decided on me. I do a basic course with lots of tidbits incl. Some board members have either taken or referred someone to me. If you're looking for combat mag changing, shooting from cover, carrying 15 mags on your belt (for a new shooter) i'm not the guy. We shoot, then shoot again and again, practice, practice, practice.
I'm way up north, i can point you in the right direction for your area. Plus i start very early in the a.m. like sunrise:30
