It is better to give than receive. If I receive any gift, no matter how stupid or useless it may be, I am greatfull that someone thought enough of me to give me a gift in the first place. If I can't use it, I will pass it on to someone that can.

Merry Christmas everyone.

This is a 'bad' but turned out to be 'good' gift. My mom loves to buy a bunch of cheap things for us and the kids to open over the entire month, we get a lot of random things but this one turned out to actually be cool. It's an inflatable (it compresses down to about .5") solar lantern. Three modes (low, high, flash) and it's really small. but easily lights up a bedroom.

This more than makes up for the eucalyptus, spearmint, foaming bath gel. :) ...... or the testosterone pills......

My mother has been in a strange gift selection mode for my sister and I for several years now. Every year I tell her to not get me any presents as being in her company during the holidays is enough. That and she should focus her present giving budget on my sisters 3 young boys. Either way, she can't resist herself in getting "Something" for me and this year I ended up with a Captain America Track Jacket....... WTF!!!

Either way, we all got together at my sisters house for Christmas and it was super fun to see her three boys bounce off the walls with excitement while opening and playing with their presents. Its cool to see kids in this state of excitement during the holidays.

Then there were the WTF? gifts.

A generic brand range bag (duh, I have like a dozen already) and a Case Logic DSLR/laptop backpack that's way too small for my laptop.

I understand what you mean about gear bags and such being personal- I dislike the way ours is set up, but until I get my sewing chops up to snuff I'll have to just lump it. My wife and I decided not to exchange gifts this year, and just spend time together. Fast-forward to Christmas morning, and the cat comes home with a big abscess after an altercation with another beast of some sort. Looks like we exchanged gifts after all. Emergency visits to the vet on Christmas Day ain't cheap...

Kind of busy, too bad your present's in the garage , any hints? It has 2 wheels and a motor YES!!! Jump on one of the needs to be test ridden bikes. They can always be sent back to Amazon, and we did.

I ended up ordered a brand new identical replacement for my well worn Swissgear (Wenger) Synergy (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000NONHYY/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=31LJT8TBUIHT2&coliid=I24X2PQUDJUESA), and adding a sized and padded Ape Case (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009GA6CS4/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=31LJT8TBUIHT2&coliid=I3LF7ADVSGRQ1&psc=1) insert kit if I need to bring DSLR gear. I only carry the DSLR and one 18-200 VR lens 99% of the time. The Synergy is an awesome backpack BTW. The best part is the zippered pouch inside the second in compartment that holds my passport and a P938 as needed.
