Vortex PST 1-4x24 TCMQ MOA?

Anyone put this thru the ringer? I checked and don't see any threads about it. Looking seriously at it as a good medium-range (max 300 yards for me for 5.56) optic. Anyone worked with it yet?

Just got the MRAD version of it ... still working on mounting. Couldn't find much bad with it online. Looked at the MOA version at either BassPro or Thornton Sportsman's ... can't remember which.

I have one and like it a lot. We have made hits on a torso sized target out to 700 with it. I think it's the best 1-4 in the price range.

They are a nice piece of glass for the money as I have fondled them quite a bit and shot someone else's. You can't go wrong with one and a solid mount like a LaRue/ADM, etc.

I was considering the PEPR mount, then saw the Made in China sticker on the bottom and it irritated me. The LaRues are pretty pricey, as are GGGs. Are they that good? I'll have a look at the ADM.

I ran one for 2-3 seasons of 3 gun or about 25 matches (plus practice sessions) a year and it w/o ANY optic problems. The only reason I replaced it was that the reticle is not daylight visible in bright light when illuminated. Other than that it was tough as nails, tracked well and very clear glass. I replaced it with the Vortex Razor II also in a QD LaRue mount.

I don't have any illuminated reticles, so humor me, why do you need illuminated reticle in bright daylight? Maybe I don't understand the whole illuminated thing...

I have run one for the last 2 years on my speed/fun rig. Only plan is to switch to a Razor HD II when funds permit, not a real high priority. The reticle is a personal preference. I have loaned it to a few people that really disliked it, but I love it and have even used it hunting. Illumination is fine for low light (hunting), but definitely not daylight capable.

Mine has gone from Burris PEPR mount to Larue. I switched to the Larue because I switch optics around a lot and didn’t like the bulk of the PEPR. If taking it on and off all the time is not a requirement. I would look into one of the newer fixed mount designs that are thinner and lighter than the PEPR.

Day light illuminated optics are faster to acquire during transitions and with multiple targets than non-illuminated models. A good 1x setting with daylight illumination borders on Red Dot speed for a lot of people.

I had one, loved it. Worked well in an adm extended mount. It adds some heft to the rifle so having it on a mount I could pull off and swap on an h1 was priceless since the wifey really enjoyed that rifle but didn't like the added weight of the viper pst.
