I know Mods can do it, but why can't users update the title of their own post after it's been submitted? This would be especially useful in the trading post.

We abused that power too much so it was taken from us.

I don't know really.

I miss the days when we could delete a thread we had started.

Not that I claim to "matter", but even though I hadn't posted here doesn't mean I hadn't been watching this thread.

Without going into any detail, there are reasons that this restriction went into place that are still valid. Because of this, no changes are planned for this restriction.

Obviously, if the OP of a thread wants a title changed and they either PM (which is hit or miss) a member of the staff or use the "Report Post" button (recommended as it reaches all staff members) to notify us that you'd like the title changed, we'll happily change the title. This restriction, btw, is why we discourage members from putting pricing information in Trading Post thread titles - prices often change.

So check your spelling and composition carefully boys and girls, before you push that submit button!

Thomas, thanks for the (kind of vague) response! I knew there had to be a reason and I totally I understand if you don't want to discuss it. Carry on, everyone! [Flower]

Or you can send a member of the staff a "can you change the title of this thread <add thread link> to xxxxxxxxx" type of message.
