Hello everybody,I just stumbled on this web site and it looks like something I should join,so here I am!
I am going to start up with a question:I have just found out that there is ,or hopefully there used to be, a Denver ban on magazines of capacity bigger than 20 rnds.
Is it still in effect?
Does it apply to Denver Co only or to the Denver metro area (i.e. Jefferson CO)?
Among the penalties for owning (or even driving through Denver) with a 30 rnds. magazine is the confiscation and (ugh!) destruction of the rifle.
Is it true?

Welcome to the forum.
There is another thread here, dealing with the AWB and denver.
That thread might answer some of your questions.

Welcome aboard. [Beer]
20+ mags are banned in the City of Denver. Not sure what the penalty is.
RMGO also has a lot of information on this and other gun laws in Colorado.

I know my post count doesn't carry much authority but I have spent a while on the phone chasing down a member of Denver PD able to answer this. Got to a firearms instructor who laid it out and agreed it was dumb. 21+ magazines are banned in the Denver area, all other things don't apply, pistol grips, flash suppressors, bayonets, etc. but 21+ mags functionally are what counts as assault weapons and each one counts as an assault weapon. As to surrounding towns I am not sure but as I understand it more lenient.
