The gun control movement has shifted their focus away from federal legislation and is focusing on the state ballot initiative method of attaining their goal. This was obvious in the recent legal change in Washington state. The gun control movement is also taking a page from the same sex marriage political movement in taking a longer term view of changing people's minds on gun rights at the local level, and in state and local legislatures. The long term goal is to make their agenda of "gun safety" one that is eventually accepted as mainstream by the majority of Americans.

They have the money. Do they have the patience to win this fight?

They do have the patience, being experts at incrementalism from nearly a century of practice.

They have the primary infrastructure in place in the schools and TV with social media growing rapidly as well. All dominated by feminized pop culture characters.

Control the media, Control the masses.

Steuern Sie die Medien zu kontrollieren, die Massen.

When you have web sites like Salon & Huffpo where the comments section is 100 people all agreeing that GUNS, KOCH BROTHERS, CAPITALISM, FREE SPEECH IS EVIL. The 2nd amendment is outdated, EVERYONE WHO DOESN'T SUPPORT OBAMA IS A RACIST

What does one expect.

Yeah...they've been using the "safety" buzzword for a few years now. I think most people see right through it...judging by the polls that show fewer and fewer Americans want more gun control.

Big Money in Urban liberal enclaves, have been the undoing of a few states rights.

As much as I hate federal power grabs, I would support a federal law that invalidates all local and state gun control laws. There is no reason why someone in one state can own and carry a constitutionally protected product, but someone in a neighboring state can't.

I was watching the news this morning and now the "Moms" is starting a campaign (petition) to "educate" Jeff Foxworthy and Alan Jackson about the evils of the NRA; this being needed to keep them from performing at this year's NRA annual meetings.

It is too early in the day to have the headache I have.

Just as an aside...HUFFPO has NEVER made a profit. And they keep pouring money into it, hoping and praying that someday, someone will listen. Still not happening! Same with CNN and MSNBC.

When people are given a choice in news sources, they drift away from the old "willing accomplice" rags that spew this anti-gun garbage.

Well then, they should leave me alone as I no longer have children. My daughter is an adult and owns her own gun.
