Picked up my 2010 2LT/RS Camaro yesterday. Back in October I couldn't find a local dealer who would agree to no markup's, had allocations left for pre-orders and would honor GM Supplier pricing. So I ended up picking the car up in Dallas which ate up about 1/3 of the savings from the GM Supplier discount.

This car is a blast to drive. Very strong acceleration even though it is one heavy pig at over 4,000 pounds [Rant1]

Since this is going to be my daily driver I went with nearly all options on a V6. This is my 3rd Camaro and by far it has the best interior and comfort.

Some shots of the new car along with my 2000 Z28.

I don't know,,, That 160 would have been a little to tempting in My youth.... (Proud former owner 1975 Camaro LT) (Yes, it was heavy also, and Yes, I did peg the speedo on a couple of occasions..)

V6!!??! Your Man card has been revoked. [Weight]Yep a 304HP V6 is what I went with. For a daily driver I figured I'd take the leather interior, sunroof, fancy paint and stripes over a barebones 1SS. I've still got my Camaro so that puts my car cylinder count at 14 [Tooth] The options is what did it for me and I couldn't justify 7k more to get a 2SS with the same setup.

Now if in a year or two GM comes out with the rumored Z28 model I may just have to trade this one in.

Nice! Is the LS1 yours too?Yep the 2000 Z28 is mine also.

Does the Z28 kick the new Camaro's ass? Once I get the tranny fixed or replaced it will be a fair amount quicker then a stock 5th gen SS in the 1/4 mile. Of course the Z28 has heads/cam, intake, bunch of suspension work, 12 bolt with 4.56 gears and some racing slicks. Now in a road course or just on the street the new ones have IRS and just handle so much better. If my Z28 was stock the new SS's would be a fair amount quicker.

The things we do when we are young. My first Camaro was a 97 and had a governor at 118, well one day I found that you can set the cruise control to just a hair below 118 [LOL]Between my 97 Camaro and 00 Z28 I'm amazed I made it out of my 20's.

they musta added the governor in 96 (ODB II?) or so when they changed them a bit, my 94 topped out at around 150 with the 4L60E.

im trying to like the new ones, but the curb weight is making it very hard. nice looking though. now if only i could get my hands on an engine/tranny/computer setup for my '52 chevy ;)

My 97 V6 had H rated tires if I remember right. In 2000 it was possible to get a Z28 with the similar tires and have a 118 limiter. Otherwise they were limited to around 160. Of course my Z28 has no limiter since I had the software and cables to change the computer [Muaha]

The curb weight is huge, so far that is the only thing I really wish they could have changed. Drop a couple hundred to 500 pounds and they would do so much better.

I'm going to put some miles on the car but hopefully in August take it out to Bandimere for test & tune. I'm thinking mid to high 15's based off of sea level numbers.
