View Full Version : Got my first AR lower!

I was bitten by the bug, and for my first AR, I'd like to mostly just learn as much as possible while building a "fair" rifle for as cheap as I can. So far I have inherited a stock and carbine length hand guards.
What does everyone recommend for a lower receiver parts kit?
I'm thinking I should do a complete upper, at least for a first rifle.
Can you all keep me in mind for any extra parts laying around? I'd love to also sit in on someone else's build, so I can watch the rifle come together.
Thanks!
As far as the LPK, since you mentioned wanting to go cheap, I would say DPMS.

Buy one of the "premium" uppers from a Palmetto State and you'll be all set! Go ahead and grab a LPK from them while you're there. [Beer]

I've been getting decent deals from a local vendor, damage factory. While PSA has good deals i like to know when an order is placed, it gets shipped in a timely manner. DF sends it out within 24hrs, tops. The We appreciate your business e-mail is nice.

+3 Damagefactory.com !!! Lol
In all seriousness, talk to Ron MEXICO..
He tried out tons of lpk for Damagefactory.. From a very popular vendor who imports some of the component from Taiwan, to some of the top names in the business.. And of course the cheap Anderson. We learnt a lot. I need your help to harass him to make a quick blog or video of the result

Can't do it if he's not returning calls or text.
Dealt with DF twice now and both were great experiences.

You'll find it to be much easier than you think. If your more of a visual learner, youtube is your friend.

Definitely going to follow YouTube vids. Irving referred me to a good one by Sootch00.
The Belly on here just put up a video as well. His is twice as long as Sootch00's video, but he has some more important info in there.

Getting closer! Now I need a buffer assembly to complete the lower. I think I have a commercial stock, but I think I'm going to keep my eyes out for mil-spec.
