A woman who has shown interest in running for Colorado Springs mayor was arrested Monday on suspicion of pointing an assault rifle at a man in Memorial Park.

Justine Herring, 48, was booked into El Paso County jail on suspicion of menacing, a felony, in what Colorado Springs police called a domestic violence incident. The clash at Memorial allegedly occurred on Saturday; it was reported on Monday.
Police did not disclose the man's relationship to her, and no further details were available.
