Need a TGIF thread!
I'm going to be asking for a few favors and I think beer as payment will be in order and suitable.
As a non/very light drinker, I need some good recommendations for some tasty beers out there.
So name me something tasty I can pick up.
Much appreciated
ETA: MODS-if this should go one forum down, please kick it...thought about that after the fact
Oskar Blues and LeftHand are two of my Colorado favorites. Scotch Ales and Stouts are what I prefer, but people have different tastes when in comes to beers.
Oskar Blues has a sampler pack, that would be a good shot if you don't know your recipients beer tastes.

Breckenridge Brewery makes a great Vanilla Porter.
Dillon Dam has a good dark one, I think it's called Moose Drool or something.
If they like the hoppy stuff, Man Beer from Bull & Bush is good. If you're into that kinda thing.

Depends on the favor and the provider.
If you need a ditch dug or a tree trimmed, better bait might be Miller.
If you need fashion advice or a contemporary hipster rock play-list, I'd go for Blue Moon.
If your friend considers himself as a beer connoisseur or brews at home, just ask the liquor store clerk for something crunchy and expensive.

Chelada if the work will be done before noon. 16 oz.
Just ask what kind of beer the person likes, there's no need for subterfuge.
If you are getting help moving, pizza is a better choice than beer. Unless you enjoy touch-up painting.
If this is a big favor, move up to whiskey or whisky. Again, just ask what they like.
Just for reference, in exchange for the above advice I deserve two bottles of Pliny the Elder (http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/863/7971/)
Or four cans of Deviant Dales from Oskar Blues
Or if you can't find either of those, a sixer of Sculpin

Funny when you consider the number 1 hipster beer is PBR, and Schlitz is the number 1 hipster malt liquor.
If you don't know the preferences of whoever you're getting the beer for, go with a variety pack from Ska, New Belgium, or Upslope.
They all make good stuff.
Anyone who drinks PBR is a hipster and should have to leave the state.
Xingu
About ten years ago, I had Xingu on tap at a restaurant in Denver.
It was one of the best beers I've ever had in my life.
Flying Dog Brewery
Left Hand Brewery
New Belgium Brewing
Oskar Blues Brewery
I'm an IPA or Pale Ale fan. This time of year porters and stouts are popular.

I had a 6 pack and it was amazing. I couldn't even imagine how good it would have been on tap
It was the first time I had ever heard of a black beer. Not a stout or porter, a black beer

Wrong, I can assure you I'm not a hipster.
Anyone who does or does not drink a certain beer, because of what people "think" of them, is a fool.
I can usually be bribed with Bass Ale...

I'll keep that in mind if I ever need motorcycle work, I have a feeling after I watch arena cross at the end of the month, that change will go up significantly.

Since you're in C Springs, I can't think of anything better than a Blonde, Brunette, and Redhead from Rocky Mountain Brewery (east of Powers between Galley and Platte).

I remember when you sold me that holster a few years ago you told me, "These new pants I'm wearing are way too tight for an IWB holster."

That's not that expensive, especially if it's as good as everyone is saying. My favorite beer is $16.99 for a 4 pack.

I still have a bottle each of Utopias 07 and 09 on the shelf. Probably be about $11 for 2 oz in a snifter.

I've always wanted to try it, but can't justify paying the $150 a bottle. Is it like a brandy ?

You drink it like brandy, it hits the nose like one too. But even at 28% ABV, it isn't distilled so you get different notes than you would get from a brandy as all the malt and yeast characteristics are still there along with the wood aging.
