Carry handle for upper with a "F-Marked Front Sight Post"

Getting close to picking up parts for my first AR based on the answers in my other post. Looking at the PSA M4 Premium upper, or similar. They list the front sight as "F-Marked Front Sight Post".

To start with, I'd like to use a carry handle rear sight. Are there different carry handles based on the type of front sight? Anything special I need to look for when buying a carry handle?

The F marked front sights sit slightly higher than standard (these days flat top rifles pretty much are the standard) AR front sight bases. This was done to accommodate flattop ARs. When the AR was redesigned as a flat top, they had to keep the wall thickness sufficient enough to maintain strength in the receiver which in turn raised the rear sight so a taller front sight (your "F" marked front sight) was created. I would think that because these front sights posts were designed for flat top ARs, that any carry handle that mounts to a flatop rifle would be designed around the same principal. I'm not 100% positive but I would think just about any quality detachable carry handle would work with that front sight base. Hope that helps.

Correct bob,the post is the same in both. Only the base is different, sorry for the confusion. Thanks for clarifying that.

Appreciate all the info. Thinking more logically, I'm probably going to skip the carry handle. Ordered up a TRS-25 for $50 shipped last night, and keeping an eye out for a deal on some flip-ups.
