Their target market must be.... Well.... Morons.

Could likely be a successful business model.

Sounds like a giant court cluster waiting to happen.

All of the liability of carrying, with none of the actual defensive benefits. Brilliant!

You can still be charged with felony menacing, but when push comes to shove, you have nothing but an awkward throwing weapon...

At first I though maybe these would be a cheap alternative to blue guns or holster molds, but apparently you can't draw the fake gun out of the holster so this guy is an idiot.

Take a gander at their website for real chuckle. LINK (http://pcdcarry.com/info.html)

A couple of tidbits:

WHAT PCD'S ARE NOT FOR

HOME PROTECTION
LAW ENFORCEMENT SITUATIONS
SELF DEFENSE

As always, if faced with a life threatening situation, seek safety first, then call 911

PCD assumes no responsibility for the use of these devices after purchase.

I think it is a great idea, if I am in a situation with somebody like this, the bad guy would then have a 50/50 chance of going after me. Who am I to argue if they want to be cannon fodder ;)

I hope the dripping sarcasm comes through.

PCD was founded in 2014 by a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served multiple combat tours to Iraq, and other places throughout the world.

How would this guy feel about carrying a fake gun in Iraq (or Detroit for that matter)?

These devices are for those who wish to feel protected but do not want the hassle of owning an actual firearm

Awwww, it's about feelings. So sweet. [facepalm]

I bet he'll make a bag of cash though.

If you're going to carry, make it real. Do you try to cut your steak with a rubber knife?

Maybe you could carry one on your weak side to distract from your CCW? [facepalm][Sarcasm2] (can't find the shrugging smiley)

That way you can OC and CCW at the same time!!!

I think the wearing of an affliction shirt or similar had about the same deterrent level. Not sure why a Marine would ever promote such nonsense. Send him back through the program until he learns something.

I'm going to carry a fake cell phone in case I need to the bad guys I'm going to call the cops!

Gee I wonder how this idiot would feel about someone wearing a Marine uniform without being one just to "intimdate" or otherwise "impress" people. Thanks for your service buddy but you're a tool.

WTF!!!

I am now waiting for the poor people, the persons adverse to actually carrying a pistol, the people that are not really safety conscious, the people that feel they have a need to intimidate and the unarmed security guards to all get shot by a cop that can't tell the difference.

This guy for sure voted for obama, I just know it.

What the Phuck!

I guess it can be considered just another way to cleanse the gene pool; your either gonna get shot or locked up for felony menacing, either way your gonna end up on the floor.

From OUR point of view, of course it's a stupid idea. But perhaps from HIS point of view, it may be a safe way to make a pile o' money. Remember what PT Barnum said about a sucker being born every minute.

Update/Addition: Brighton-based company makes a "smart bullet" that explodes with pepper spray or something else that's yet to be determined. I don't get it Fellas. gomto the link and click on Private Citizens. Read it. Laugh at first, then revel in a level of stupidity that could not be written. God save us.

So I guess these "toy" guns don't require an orange tip?

Wait: can the toy guns be removed from the holster or not? Honestly, I haven't spent one second on their web site (refuse to give them a hit).

http://smartrounds.com/id16.htmlThis would get me in more trouble than firing lethal rounds. I envision myself standing over the bad guy, pumping rounds at him till he loses consciousness.[flamingo]

It's based on a solid biological premise. The idea that a predator will choose another "victim" based on a perceived threat in order to maintain self preservation is solid biological thinking. That being said, the idea does not take into account the idea that the jackasses who commit crimes aren't set on self preservation. Many of the people who shoot up places are either: 1. planning on dying anyways. 2. looking for some sort of fame. 3. crazy and don't care about a perceived threat. In cases like this, the people who are dead set on shooting up a place have a severe lead deficiency and they will not stop until they have received the proper "dose" of lead.

This looks like a fancy way for people to get shot trying to be safer. A firearm in the proper holster is going to be much safer because it can also be used should the situation dictate. Part of the appeal of REAL firearms is the inherent dangerousness of them (I don't mean this the same way anti's do obviously). It is the danger that they can pose that stops bad guys when a gun is pointed at them. You take away that danger and you take away the reason you have a gun in the first place.
