...being outstanding people. I've had the pleasure of meeting of few of you on here and today, Saturday, I met 2 more outstanding and friendly members.

mcantar18c and crays. Two very nice and friendly guys. I only regret I didn't join here sooner but I just needed to pass on the good word. Today is a tough day as I found out right around noon that my only surviving uncle had passed yesterday in Pennsylvania (he hadn't been in good health but it was still a shock). I was in a funk, had a range session already planned, was debating continuing but did. mcantar allowed me to run a few rounds through his recent AR pistol build to see what I thought of it-it reinforced that I do want to get one.

crays got the .44 mag ammo I had and offered up some .45acp Federal that my 1911 prefers. Both of these great guys allowed me to have a better than expected range session.

Thanks again, hope everybody has a great weekend.
Steve

Condolences Doc. I lost a cousin suddenly last week myself. It's hard when you don't expect it, and you are far away.

Condolences. The B-I-L lost to cancer that went from nothing to full tilt, in 3.5 weeks. it was another Merry Christmas, again.

I am sorry for your loss.

This is the neighborhood I wished I lived in. I easily spend more time and know more people here than I do in the neighborhood where my house is [Flower]

Sorry to hear about your Uncle....Doc.

I've met a number of folks from this board, done business and pleasure with several of them.....and I echo your sentiment. Crays is a great guy.

I think Cstone is right, this place is my neighborhood too.

I've met 50+ members of this forum and only one time was the member kind of sketchy. Young folks, old folks, and lots of good, honest folks. That's why I like this place. [Beer]

hahaha nope! It was several years ago, but the guy is still around. Our transaction was fine, he was just someone I probably wouldn't deal with again.

Did it involve a used chainsaw?

Thanks for the kind words guys. As a little kid my uncle was the kind every one loved to have. He and his family lived near us until we moved to Arizona from New Jersey. They would visit freqently (he was my mother's little brother). He was funny, very smart, mischevious and just a great man. He loved tennis and was able to play through his late 60s. He and my dad were very close (my dad didn't have any family). He was able to visit here a few times when my sons were young and I'm very fortunate they had a chance to know him.

The last 10 years or so were not kind to his health, when my cousin called to tell me of his passing we were able to laugh over some great memories and family stories.

I took the day yesterday after the range to just think about things, logged on this morning and saw the nice comments. Be safe out there and enjoy the day.

Just saw this thread. Haven't even posted feedback on yesterday's transaction.
DOC, it was great to meet you yesterday, and I will say that there was absolutely zero indication that there was any type of turmoil in your life. Your composure is inspiring.
Be well, be strong, and please accept my sincerest condolences. I have an uncle like that myself.
