View Full Version : Traffic ticket time limit questions
I received a letter in the mail today from an attorney saying I have an unpaid seatbelt ticket from commerce city municipal court with a citation date May of 2008?!?!? Shouldn't this have come up sooner
I have no recollection of the ticket at all. And I have renewed my license got a cdl and dealt with me being a Dumbass at one point and having a suspended license for separate an unpaid ticket.

You would be suprised as to the resolution and what can be seen from those traffic cameras......
City Attorney or just some attorney?
Let me guess, someone stating they are an attorney who can help you resolve this unpaid ticket that has accrued thousands in penalties, but he can do it for you and save you lots of money.
Either take a copy of the letter, fax a copy, or scan and email a copy of the letter to the Commerce City Court clerk. See what they have to say about it.

It's a scam, don't bother.

I am by no means a lawyer but it sounds like BS to me. Call the clerk ASAP.

i put the case number into commerce citys payment program and it is in there. I am confused with seatbelt tickets not being a primary offense what bob said with the traffic cameras would be tough
and if i had gotten pulled over in may of 08 and dont remember it shouldnt the fine have been paid at the same time as the primary ticket? definitly going to call them tomorrow and see what is going on.

If it was against you & over due you would not have been able to re-register vehicles and or your DL
Definitely talk to the courts about it. Seems odd.

Attorney registration is a matter of public record. You can check to see if the attorney is legal to practice law in Colorado by searching the Colorado Supreme Court records of attorney registration at the following URL:

Sounds pretty shaky to me. I'd be surprised if this wasn't a scam.

The law office is
linebarger goggan blair & sampson llp
googling around it seems they are the whip crackers for unpaid E470 tolls. the plot is thickening
This reminds me...I have a parking ticket going on 2 years. Oh well.
Tomorrow is a holiday. The suspense grows.

Be very wary, sounds similar to this warning sent out by the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. http://larimersheriff.org/press-release/new-fraud-alert

Ticket from a traffic camera? Many of the traffic cams are outsourced, even the vans. I recall at least some traffic camera tickets are not submitted to DMV records.
This is based on my memory from my research after my wife received a traffic camera ticket a few years ago. Ticket came from a traffic camera van that was run by a Texas company contracted by City of Denver. I will try to find this info again and post here.
