Well, isn't that peachy.

(Tank shows up fleetingly at one point, then a bit more steady around the 3 minute mark).

It will be interesting to see if they can:
a) Keep it fueled, they are thirsty beasts
b) Keep it running, they can be maintenance intensive
c) Keep it armed, M1 Main Gun tank rounds just don't show up in most ammo stockpiles

I'd be more concerned with them analyzing it to find weak points they can exploit, or duplicating some of the advanced tech(targeting systems and comms, mostly).

Yep, targeting and comms are what I'm worried about. We should have dropped a JDAM on it by now...

Weren't the M1A1's we gave to the Iraqis severely watered-down in just about every department?
whats the problem? I thought the American governments policy was to arm terroists and disarm US citizens.
Winner
Ah ha, that's where my tax money has been going. Arming more terrorists, isnt it a wonderful world.

So the object is to drift in a straight line? Interesting....... Also, what a bunch of dumbasses!

Yah, no problem, hadji is just helping his friends out.

If Obama had sons....
They're going to sell it to the Russians, or trade for AKs and RPGs. [ak][MG][UZI][g3]

Professional drifting is about getting as close to the edge of the road as possible, as fast as possible without losing control.

What those arab guys are doing is just snapping the car side to side to kick the back end out.
Nice to know we probably trained them to run it, maintain it and yes....... Left plenty of ammo behind.
And ya..... Iraq has no oil to run it.....

We trained the Iraqi Army to run them. Those dudes dropped their gear and ran like the French when ISIS showed up, so odds are they don't have a clue how to use it beyond basic operation.

All the M1s we sell have generations old electronics in them, only the US has M1s with the systems that we would be concerned about falling into the wrong hands.

True. The tanks in the video are on first gen M1070 Heavy Equipment Transporters, also US foreign military sales to Iraq (assuming).

they fire that beotch up, and start glowing on IR, and it will earn something loving from the sky that even a M1 can not survive..

Bu, bu, but, Obama ended the war over there. Why would they even want that?
Just like the F-14s we sold to Iran in the 70s, they'll sit on the pavement, useless due to a lack of maintenance.
I think you are assuming none of the infiltrators known to be part of the Iraqi army are not now running that tank.... I would not take that bet.

Concur, I am sure we provided the requisite technical manuals (-10/-20) translated as well.

Actually the Iranians made good use of the Tomcat in the Iran -Iraq war thru the 80's and I believe they also got the first Air to Air kills with it( with a like 50 to 1 kill ratio early in the war).
It's said that the Iraqi's would pick up the F-14 radar ( the AWG-9 was very distinctive) on the warning receiver sets and immediately turn tail back to base.

nope. Looks like the Iranians are keeping them flying

They've actually done a good job at keeping them flying. From what I read they just finished phase rebuilding another batch. They wouldn't be stupid enough to send those up against US fighters and loose their best air asset.

Yes. Export versions are not on the same level as ours. And I've seen Iraqi maintaining standards. That thing is worthless after too long, giant pillbox

For some reason this conjures an image of a monkey banging on a tank with a rock. If it was anyone other than cave-dwelling savages in dresses, I'd be worried about these things too.

Either a) cars are cheap, b) the economy is thriving, or c) those guys are fairly well off in order to treat their vehicles that way.
