Cops are under the microscope again with the shooting of the 16 year old girl in a stolen vehicle.
Girl was just out of jail for boosting. Father states how the cops can shoot an unarmed person not parents don't let your kids out after dark. What would have happened if his little girl had killed someone with her boosted car?
Cops policies being questioned about shooting at moving vehicles. Their policy is clear that they can only discharge if they or another officer/person is in danger.
Police chief agrees that policies should be looked at. ACLU agrees and states policies are trending for cops to "move out of the way" instead of shooting.
Police unions will continue to vote for these numnuts that put their officers in harms way.
I don't know why anyone signs up to be a cop these days. I've been following this a little bit. 200 people were at a police station protesting. Lot's of tugging on heart strings because she "was just a little girl". This will be interesting to see how it plays out.
I have been watching this a bit and have to say... No sympathy for the girl. She actually hit the cop in the leg and looks like she tried to use the car as a deadly weapon. When I watched it on the news a kept hearing in the back of my head "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes" a saying from one of the guys here on the forum. It really fits in the circumstance.
You know the FSA (Free Shit Army) is looking for reasons to riot, loot and cry. Sad time to be a sheepdog.

The problem is that cops have to look over their back constantly because the danger isn't just the criminals, its the administration and other officers that will throw their fellow cops under the bus in a heartbeat if it serves their purpose.
because its a good paying job with good job security.
this mother should be deported. (if she is an illegal, she needed an interpreter to complain to the media) if she wasnt such a piece of shit parent MAYBE her daughter wouldnt have been a career criminal by 16 years old.

I'm convinced that the leftist activists behind these protests are going out of their way to choose incidents where the "victim" of police violence is actually clearly and obviously guilty so they are GUARANTEED to lose and thus ratchet up the outrage.
Looking back at Ferguson, from the perspective of the protestors the worst thing that could have happened from the Grand Jury would have been an indictment of Officer Wilson. That's why the case of an obvious thug that frankly deserved to be shot was the case they championed. They need these "injustices" to be guaranteed to keep small minded ghetto rats angry and small minded white liberals writing checks.

I'm now thinking that we should change the police rules of engagement so that they aren't allowed to use their guns, to protect the public from the police.
Likewise, we should allow the police to stay in their cars and not interfere with crime, to protect the police from the public. They can just sit there and wait for the ME to pick up the victims or the perps, depending upon which type of citizens they prey upon.

I don't think such a thing could be accomplished but I'd love to see all the police in the country come out and declare that in honor of Black History Month that for the entire month of February they won't pursue, arrest, detain, question or interfere with ANY person of color.
Lets see how committed some of these anti-cop folk will be after a couple weeks of no protection from the police.

This sounds an awful lot like the Norwegian police ROE. Norwegian police do not carry side arms but have them locked in their patrol cars. They need permission from the chief of police (or a designate) to arm themselves. Look how much that helped in 2011.....

lets see... A car has been deemed a deadly weapon for about.... EVER
this little misunderstood FELON, hit a cop in a stolen car, and people wonder why she if fucking dead!!!!!
investigate the parents, I firmly believe we need to start holding parents responsible for minors behavior.. they may wake the fuck up and control/raise their children.
What bothers me the most is how it is becoming a societal norm now for people to make "heroes" out of these criminal scumbags and make criminals out of the police. I blame the media.

Its all part of the balkanization process ... I'm convinced that Obama, Holder and their fellow travelers are trying their best to instigate a race war in America.

If I ever run for office one of y'all has to be a pal do the right thing and put me out of my misery as I'll have surely lost my mind (or become possessed by a demon). :p

Exactly-what was once illegal is now undocumented-which in a sense is legal...[facepalm]
Tonight on the news, there was a segment about how a 17 year-old plead guilty as an adult today for vehicular manslaughter. The girl that hit, and killed, a guy head-on in Commerce City last year. There was no tie to the event this thread is talking about, but if that girl can be considered an adult, why not this one?

The perception of which will just give them more ammunition to start grabbing guns when the race war they are fomenting kicks up.

Yes. Fuck the media and their use of the word allegedly. All the criminals, even the ones committing their crimes on video allegedly did this or that. But the police or citizen defending themselves without a doubt, murdered someone's poor angelic baby.

because its a good paying job with good job security
So is an becoming an accountant. You aren't going to get shot at, stabbed, punched, kicked, bit, spit on, pissed on and a million other things as an accountant. Well I suppose you could, but at that point you probably shouldn't work at that firm anymore...
Nothing against cops at all...but I definitely echo Dave's sentiment. Point being if you are looking for a good paying job with good security, there are many, MANY other jobs that are much safer and have a greatly diminished possibility of getting into a situation like the one described in the OP.

Because 7-10 minutes after the first shots are fired he gets to declare martial law and suspend congress and the constitution until the crisis is over ... of course the crisis will never be over.

Tonight after preliminary investigation it is not clear if the officer that has the broken leg if it was caused by being struck by the car or if it was because of him trying to get out of the way.
Both the police chief and mayor should have stated "Vehicles are considered dangerous weapons. That is why we have laws against driving while intoxicated, texting etc". If you try to run our officers down then they will shoot you dead. Next question....
This is going into the realm of stupid really fast.

So, when does the rioting & Looting start ? I better get down to the Salvation Army and get a hoodie or two....... I'm needing a 42" or larger LED TV..........and other FREE stuff.......
Witness in car says that vehicle didn't hit officer until after the driver was shot. This happened in an alley. How many paths were available to the driver? If the car hit the officer after the driver was shot, that seems like a pretty strong projection of where the vehicle was already headed.
tl;dr: Fuck her, who cares?
Those witnesses are covering their own ass and will say anything until the screws start tightening and the truth comes out. Ferguson v2

Agreed. Driver would not have been shot if she turned off the vehicle. As soon as she decided to use the vehicle in a threatening manor then the gloves should come off. So the officer has a broken leg instead of more serious injuries if the car was allowed to continue. Agreed screw her.
