I think I finally realized why I go to these things. It saves me money. I can walk around with a pocket full of cash and never feel tempted to spend any of it.

Anyhow, I'm hiding down there when they open to walk around and people watch.

Hit me up if you're there and want to say hello.

Oh, and pray for me. You know, in case there is yet another "negligent discharge" there.

And it's $8. Not $10. $7 if you are ambitious enough to print a coupon.

Going to be crowded. Got here a little early like I usually do and still had to park farther out than I like.

I was wrong. It is $10. I left.

For anyone thinking about going, I haven't seen it this crowded since right before the last election. Lots of old people and lots of people commenting about how they've never been to a gun show before.

I have other plans, but was looking forward to providing a photograph of my vehicle license to some government agents. [LOL]

Those Aholz raised the entry to $10!!!!

People stopped going b/c the entry was $8 and they've made the tables too expensive for the little guys with the cool, good stuff to buy. Needless to say but I won't be going unless I can get in for free.

The high admission and table rental prices = GREED.[Rant1]

$10 is stupid, I had a good friend (passed away a little over 2 yrs ago) that had his ffl and used to set-up at Tanner. Both my younger son and I would help him at his tables and my son had some very funny observations of the "great unwashed" that would make up a sizeable portion of the crowd.

Frankly I'd rather do deals with the guys here than 99% of the vendors at the show. Was going to check it out tomorrow morning but will pass. Suffering from that horrible disease of "fundsarelow" so can't really get anything anyway LOL. I looked for older S&Ws when I did go but can find what I want on other forums when the money comes in.

$10 to fight the crowd while looking at overpriced merchandise [fail]

Did not buy a thing but did notice a significant increase in the amount and variety of powder available. At prices I was unwilling to pay of course.

Might change my plans for a GS.

I will not be in an orange hoody or boonie. Probably jeans, black fleece and a tan bill cap. Who wants to meet up?

Rare occasion for me to go. I was going to the M/C Swap Meet & Show Sat., but the $15 admission, parking chaos, and the line outside two+ blocks long drove me right the hell away. I don't like crowds and lines just chap my ass.

I'm going to give the motorcycle show a shot today. We'll see how that goes.

$10 door fee. I about walked back out, but I hadn't been in a year or so, and wanted to catch up with a few vendor friends. Looked the door guy straight in the eye and said "$10? That's Bu!!$h1t". He smiled, and told me to enjoy the show.
Probably the last time I'll go as a paying customer.

Do they at least still have the $1 off online coupon ?

I'm not finding it on their site anymore. Not seeing it in a Google Image search, either.

I would say members here comprise more than 1% of the show vendors, so your logic is flawed to begin with.

Apologies for my flawed logic (sorry for the lack of a "sarcasm" smilie).....I should've said 2%-hey hey hey Just Kidding!!!! I actually got talked in to going this morning-a friend of mine is shopping for a new gun, offered to pay my fee if I went with her. Well surprise, surprise I made a very nice deal on an older S&W since I "forgot" to leave my credit card at home. Pic in the "latest purchase" thread.

The coupon worked for me today, even though I just flashed the image on my phone.

Got what I wanted there (traded the wood furniture on my AK for a black poly set, straight across) and was in and out in just over an hour. A LOT busier than I expected it to be on Super Bowl Sunday.

Never thought of just flashing the image on my phone, great idea. Glad the coupon still works with the new price increase. I never made it up there after I shoveled the three car driveway and sidewalk on two sides of my corner lot I needed a nap, wet snow.

strange, my neighbor said the coupon in paper form didn't work for him, yet it was the older one, not the new revised one.

Also, I thought the $10 entry fee covered both days now?

Ridge
02-01-2015, 22:32
It does cover both days, but you have to pay it if you're only there Sunday, too.

Not too bad considering I've gone back many time and paid the fee again since the stamp has worn or washed off.

I did try to get a new coupon but it verifies you've already gotten one based on the email Addy used. But that can worked around.
