What is an essential oil?
Essential oils are aromatic compounds that come from different parts of the plant. They work with you body to give your body what it needs to help itself heal. Essential oils can cross cell membranes, stop the replication of viruses, clean up the mess the virus left, and work to rebuild the damaged DNA.

Essential oils can play a role in your life through many applications.Essential oils are the volatile, aromatic oils obtained by steam or hydrodistillation of botanicals. Most essential oils are primarily composed of terpenes and their oxygenated derivatives. Different parts of the plants can be used to obtain essential oils, including the flowers, leaves, seeds, roots, stems, bark, wood, etc.
Certain cold-pressed oils, such as the oils from various citrus peels, are also considered to be essential oils but these are not to be confused with cold-pressed fixed or carrier oils (http://www.essentialoils.org/carrier-oils/)such as olive, grapeseed, coconut etc. which are non-volatile oils composed mainly of fatty acid triglycerides. Other aromatic, plant-derived oils, which technically aren’t essential oils because they are solvent extracted, include Absolutes (http://www.essentialoils.org/absolutes/) (hexane followed by ethanol extraction), CO2’s (http://www.essentialoils.org/co2-extracts/) (liquid carbon dioxide used as the solvent) and Phytols or Florosols (fluoro-hydrocarbon solvent). What is

In other words, they're the oils from various plants, each of which have distinct properties and uses: anti-biotic, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, soothing, cleansing, etc. Think of them as a natural alternative to chemicals...

Why Doterra?
Doterra wild crafts their oils, meaning they work with the farms worldwide to take the plants from their indigenous environments. The environment highly affects the properties of the plant (Florida oranges, Columbian coffee, etc.). Doterra also believes in a higher standard for their oils. They pay a third party NOT affiliated with the company to put the batches of oils through SIX different tests to ensure purity and potency. They are the only company that does this. Oils can be adulterated and passed as pure. It's extremely critical to pay attention to how and where oils come from.

Why essential oils?
You don't need to take the time and money to go to a Doctor for help.
An essential oil does not have a shelf life.
There are many issues that you wouldn't go to the Doctor for (i.e. small cough, sore throat, cold sore, achy muscles, etc.) and an essential oil can help.

Man uses: garage cleaner like orange glow or wd40. A drop of lemon will take paint/grease/grim off skin without the harmful hazards.

You can also rub it on your chest and behind your ears for congestion. There are other many uses for it, like helps with nausea and pain, and allergy's when mixed with Lavender and Lemon etc.

You can also put it on toothpicks and have some nice breathe after picking food out of your teeth :D

Nothing wrong with essential oils. There are some wonderful ones.. Some great mixtures for relaxation, and sleep. Even some anti viral that work well..

I'm a big proponent of essential oils. I get mine from Rocky Mountain Oils (also known as Native American Nutritionals), or some I get from Young Living. We've used them for many purposes and have had great success and don't have to rely on pharmaceuticals!

Absolutely. It's our main cleaner, disinfectant and other things. Rocky Mountain Oils makes a similar product called Purify.
