Does anyone know of a place to shoot near Evergreen?

Couldn't guide you in exactly but off of 103 Squaw Pass on the right as you head up towards ID Springs there was a lot of shells on the ground. So I assume it has been shot in before. I found the place just taking every road off of 103 that wasn't posted. I was on a dirt bike though. Cars can make it. Its Forrest land with good backstops.

I found this place yesterday. It was the first left right after Echo Mountain Ski area just a little way up the trail. Nice place to shoot still pretty clean. I was able to pick grocery bag of other peoples shells but all I had was one bag.

Sure, Clear Creek County Sportsmans Club Dumont, CO. It may not work for an immediate fix but my preference is to shoot at a club.
There's currently a waitlist but it's worth it to get on the list.
A nice range, only 100 yds rifle (x2) but good pistol berms. About a 20 mins. drive from N. Evergreen.

I found this place yesterday. It was the first left right after Echo Mountain Ski area just a little way up the trail. Nice place to shoot still pretty clean. I was able to pick grocery bag of other peoples shells but all I had was one bag.

There are several turnoffs to shoot up there. I usually go below echo mtn. Very clean place and not many people!!

Hey Guys,

So it sounds like you are talking about the trails on the side of Squaw Peak? At least the turnoffs close to EchoMtn. I run/hike both Chief and the access road up Squaw quite a bit so I'm trying to picture exactly the spot that you are talking about.
What's the length of the area are you guys seeing? Assuming 50 yds or less? And, I assume you're shooting into the side of Squaw Peak?
I'm still looking for a long range rifle (500 yds+) in the Egreen neck-o-the-woods.

There are a LOT of places up by fall river road. I go there quite a bit to shoot. There is one place that I really like (Jeep only, and I mean JEEP, it's too narrow with a sheer drop for anything wider) that is a great site surrounded by hills with a nice 50 yard flat area (100+ yards if you go up the hill a bit), I can give you the Google map of how to get there if you want.

Sure, I'd love to check it out. TJ it'll be vs. a F350 then...
I'm getting desparate to find a 400-600 yd range w/o driving up to Pawnee (or down to the Whittington Ctr).

It's not close to Evergreen, but Ben Lomond Gun Club has very nice facilities, with a high-power rifle range out to 600 yards. Kind of a drive, but no waiting list. www.blgc.org There's also a nice DOW public range on US40 between Hot Sulphur Springs and Kremmling, also a long drive but scenic. Don't know the range distances though, farther than I'd want to walk, for sure.

Strange feelings on the road from Sandwich to Ramsgate.
Does anyone know if there is any history to that part of the road or area that may make me feel that way?
