Just saw this craigslist post for a company auctioning off all assets of OD Green Supply
http://denver.craigslist.org/sgd/4880067580.html
Not surprised. They will probably over charge at the auction too.

Sucks to loose another shooting business. You have to have competitive pricing to stay in the game.

True, but this is one business I will not miss. It was good when he was charging good prices for his ammo, but he really bought into the whole panic thing. Guess he figured it would never end. Bad bet on his part. Ran himself into the ground.
Where is the OD trailer full of ammo?
Sorry but the SUV just looks ghey.
Never went there and never heard anything good about them. Brick & mortars will live and die over customer service.

Anyone ever done business through Kenosha Auctions and Events before? i'm interested in at least watching some of these items, and may even decide to bid if the prices are good...

This. Met the owner when he first opened. Seemed down-to-earth enough. The panic hit, and he never let his foot off the gas, even when 193 had dropped back into the .37/round area online and .41/round in stores. Non-competitive pricing mixed with his employing guys who wore plate carriers and talked about killing people put the business to bed for me.
Oh man, now where am I supposed to NOT go to on the weekends?

Gunsmoke is still there to avoid, right?
Oh yeah, I glare at that place every time I'm in Wheat Ridge. Family business is within glaring distance of that place.

Sometimes when we go to lunch at work, we'll stop by Dairy Queen on the way back. Every time I'm sitting at the drive-thru window, I look into Gunsmoke's empty parking lot and feel satisfied.

Haven't you heard? They shuttle all their customers there in that Silverado...

The 22 is already more than I would pay. People are funny.
And they're charging $25 for BGC on the firearms.

I've known Rick Arnold, the owner of Kenosha Auctions, for a long time. He's a stand up guy. I've done their BGCs for them in the past but that's the only business I've done with them. Rick's bought a lot of guns from me in the past. From what I've seen people usually pay WAY too much for guns at auction and that's true for his auctions, too. But that's not his fault.
Went there maybe thrice.... Wasn't impressed. Not as bad as that place that was on Broadway and Hampden.... Even after I bought a rifle the old guy never once said hello.... Even if I was the only one there....
I drive by gunsmoke usually a few times a day... I think they still do ccw classes.... Occasionally. Went in once... They at least said hello.
Ark tactical 100%!

OD is not really closing. They are moving out of town to another location under a new name.

Seems an odd choice to sell everything off at auction then. Do they plan to stay in-state?
OD has been such an weird story from day 1.

All two of 'em. I really don't know what's keeping those doors open.

At this point, it's just simple friction.

+1 on this. Noah is a good man to deal with.

Did you ask him how his helicopter rides are going lately?

I'm sure I've told this anecdote before, but the last time I went in there (2012), I was looking to buy an upper in-town. Figured I'd humor them. When I asked the guy who had ignored me when I came in if they carried any uppers on hand, he looked at me like I'd asked him to donate to the Brady Campaign or something. After a condescending, "No," he added that they could order one.
The hallmark of a successful local business: treating your neighborhood customers with contempt.
Glad I never wasted my time by going in there. Kind of like Gunsmoke. Won't catch me in there unless I feel the dying urge to drop a deuce on the showroom floor. That place on Broadway (High Plains Arms) was a joke too. Went in there twice and regretted it both times. I'll do my business with Ark Tactical or Rapid Fire Bunker. Good people who value their customers.
So...for OD Green & High Plains Arms:

It's how they'd want to be remembered.
Yes, I actually placed a ton of low bids last week. I re-upped a few, but have since been blown out of the water on everything, and I have no idea why people would ever consider paying some of their bid prices, much less with a 10-13% buyers premium depending on their payment method... I honestly think they are bidding on their own things to make the prices higher.
I believe my last comment about that shop was "It's a waiting game and I don't think we will be waiting long".
