I don't know. I had a kaboom like that with a 1911 last week. I just started reloading again after a long hiatus and was testing my reloads by the barrel drop test using my RIA 2011 barrel. Rounds were running fine the next day through the RIA. My son was shooting a different 1911. Had a case head failure just like the one above. Blew out the mag and marked his hand where the gas vented thru gaps. Come to find out the 2nd pistol had a tighter chamber and the reloads weren't crimped enough. Excessive headspace. My bad for sure for not checking all my barrels. I ended up ordering a loaded round gauge to prevent that. But still not going to assume that all my reloads will fit every chamber. I plan on checking a dozen rounds or so in any barrel of a pistol I shoot that I haven't ran my reloads through before I trust the rounds. Wake up call for sure.

My first two Reloading Rules:

#1 I don't shooting anyone else's reloads
#2 I don't let anyone else shoot my reloads

If I have a guest at the range, it's name brand factory ammo only for them. No guarantees there either, but it's on the ammo company, not me.

They're cool to watch, from a safe distance, and if you have a hole nearby to dive into. Biggest danger is debris, there can be all kinds of shit flying around at high speed. Seen some bizarre stuff after tornadoes have passed. I grew up in NW OK.

Yes, which is where Laird got the idea (ripping it off a ski and attaching to a surfboard).

There's a documentary on it somewhere. The main takeaway is that it really revolutionized where and how they could surf big waves. On a regular board, choppy conditions can be fatal. Hydrofoil assists in eliminating that issue, since it rides "below" the surface.

I know a lot of people don't like Rob Pincus, and I don't think there is much point to the premise of this video, since we all know shooting sports are not realistic representations of real shooting situations. But the shooting system he uses is awesome. Randomly pops targets and sets a variable number of hits required for a target to go down.
