View Full Version : Anybody install light bars etc?
My neighbor bought a big light bar, a couple small 12" light bars and a couple square 5x5 light bars he wants installed on his ~2012 ram 1500. Wants professional work and the places he has been to keep jacking him around.
the big one goes above the cab, the smaller ones I think he wants up front and the square ones he would like either off the mirrors or up on the cab with the ability to rotate out and down.
if anybody has done this or knows of a good place for this type of work please let me know.
i think there might be a lift, front bumper and winch in the near future as well
I've done a 40" lightbar on mine it's not real hard . Does he have mounts and a wiring harness?

I don't think he had the wiring harness, but I am pretty sure there are mounts on all of them, although not sure if they will work with exactly how he wants it
So much easier with the wiring harness tell him if he can get it

There used to be a shop kinda out by Golden (west side off I-70) that did them too idk if they are still around...(they did like the police light bars and spot lights iirc)

You're probably talking about Av-tech. Yeah, they'll do it and do a good job. I know the guy that started that company, and my bosses kid works there.

Yeah that's it.....at one point i was looking to install spotlights on a rig and someone referred me there. Ended up going another route but they seemed to know their stuff.

Cool. Mike Webber started that company in '86 or '7. He was the sole Colorado dealer for Whelen Engineering (the best strobe and LED manufacturer) lighting systems for a very long time.
We professionally install that stuff all the time, but our boss doesn't take in "side jobs", and I did ask a couple of co-workers if they were willing to do the install on the Ram, but everyone's got too much personal shit going on to take it.

ATLR(Affordable Toyota and Lexus Repair) off 43rd and Kipling does that kind of stuff and is reasonable. Give them a call
Okay thanks guys I'll pass along that info and see what he decides
Bringing this back,
seeing if there are any other options, and also curious if anybody has an idea how to wire in a single light bar (12") to my new truck (2015 3500 duramax).
id like to do mine where it just comes on with the fog lights. I have a wiring harness with all kinds of switches and it has a fuse for protection and all this crap but I would think I could wire it into the fog light pretty easy? I hate electrical so any help would be great

Check this out. He illustrates the wiring of the relay which confuses most people.
