Yesterday I watched the series premier of the Breaking Bad spin-off, Better Call Saul on the AMC website and was so impressed that I had to watch it again. This is going to be a really entertaining show. Without spoiling it for everyone, the ending was very insightful and dovetails right into the Breaking Bad series.

I look forward to the next episode.

I watched it. I didn't find it that entertaining. Has the potential to be good though.

I really enjoyed both episodes so far. I'd recommend it.

I appreciated the opening sequence a lot more once I sat back and thought about it. I haven't watched the second half of the last season of Breaking Bad, so I don't know how things resolved for Saul, but I can take a pretty good guess. I found his 'pornography' to be hilarious in it's own right.

I watched the first and second episodes back to back and found them to be uneven. Parts were very, very funny, other parts fell flat. It isn't one of those shows that locks me in from the beginning, but sometimes shows grow on me slowly. A lot will depend if I have the time to invest in the next few episodes, and whether the show picks up by then.

That's exactly how I felt about Breaking Bad when it first came out. I watched the first 2 episodes and was not impressed, but then I watched shows 3-5 of season 2 and had to go back and watch season 1 entirely to understand how the characters got to where they were, and that's when I got hooked. Same with this show. The first episode was just that, the seed planted that will grow the series into something interesting. I expect every significant character that appears will resurface later in the series, unless they are killed off, and then the tapestry begins to reflect it's complex story line.

Well we're in the minority. It sucked, really sucked. Maybe i'll watch it again just to confirm our first impression, NOT.

Isn't this the prequel to BB?

Haven't seen it but will give it a chance. I like the cast.

Yeah, if you're not up to speed, or a fan, of Breaking Bad, I can't imagine the first two episodes of Saul made much of an impression on you. We enjoyed Breaking Bad (although it "jumped the shark" before it ended), and enjoyed the first couple episodes of Saul. Well, as much as we enjoy any drivel on the boob tube. If there's not a fire burning in the back yard's fire pit, or if the hot tub isn't working, we'll probably watch more of it.

That explains it, Not a fan.

I liked the second episode but I realize a lot of 1 was set up. Looking forward to the season.

And that is what makes this type of series work, or not work for some. I enjoyed the first 2 episodes, but after talking to the wife, she did not. She was not a fan of BB, and all of the nuances leading to BB events was lost on her.

Subscribed and will return to read either tonight or tomorrow night as we're two episodes from finishing the Breaking Bad series before we watch Better Call Saul which I DVR'd. I don't want to read/see any spoilers so I'm avoiding reading these threads or watching Better Call Saul until afterwards but from what I see from the preview I'm guessing it's a prequel so I'm guessing there's no spoilers in the new series but not chancing it.

I agree. I think this show has a lot of potential. It took me a long time to watch BB. Once I got in to it, I think I watched the entire season in a month. Hopefully this new show turns out great as well.

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT!

They are calling it a prequel, but the beginning is a sequel to BB, then a flash back to pre-BB. It straddles BB, before and after.

I didn't watch last night's episode but I did see the first two after finished up Breaking Bad finally. Even though it's before the BB series it picks up my BB fix right where it left off. It did start off slow but I'm excited for the potential it has. Should be a good one.

I tried to watch the first episode but just couldn't get into it.

Of course it seems like it took me two or three episodes of Breaking Bad to really get into it.
Might have to see if I can find the first two or three shows and see if the wife and I can get through them.
