Heard about this on the radio this morning. Seems a guy in his twenties beat a guy in his seventies pretty badly. I couldn't wrap my head around why anyone would brutally attack a man that age. The victim is a Vietnam vet.

I am not trying to one up you, but everyday there are examples of people who do not value life. This was the story that stopped me this morning:

Be safe.

Not my favorite show. Sorry.

Call it lack of respect. Call it opportunism. Young bucks looking for an easy release.

I have had a couple of incidences that could have escalated if I didn't walk/drive away. All were 20 somethings.

Sad that this one took it out on someone who could be his Grand/Great Grand Father.

That was directed at CStone, because I know it's not his favorite show. From the article, it sounds like she has some mental problems and nothing to do with her being young or black.

Too bad the victim didn't have security cameras monitoring his house. It would help to have some video of the suspect and his car.

I have found that in general, young criminals are the same from from the 1980's through today. They de-value other human beings outside their circle to something less then equal and that allows them to "justify" in their minds, the use of violence for a perceived injustice to themselves and/or their friends. Simply stated - they want what you got if it is nicer than theirs, or more than they have. Give it up willingly or unwillingly, but you will give it up.

It is a entirely different thought level that they operate at, that is reinforced by the lack of repercussions and consequences for their previous criminal actions. Sometimes they are caught, arrested and held accountable, but more likely not. And that just serves to reinforce the idea that criminal behavior is tolerated, exceptable, and profitable. When asked "why did you do that?" most respond that they didn't think they would get caught. And then if caught, it was "no-biggie" because they had done it before and it was not a big deal to handle the probation or plea to a lesser charge and pay the fine, eventually pay the fine that is.

Orange is the New Black? On first glance I thought it was a bad pic of Cat from Red Dwarf. [LOL]

Today I worked enough that I read very little "news."

For those who may be curious, Google Foo who I work for:
