Pay as soon as you can so those that have been on gov't assistance for most of their lives can continue getting their monthly checks without interruption in service.

You mean it was possible that I only had to pay taxes for myself?
WTF happened then?

You forgot this one...[teabag]
Actually you should ALL get them in quickly this year. The bad guys are sending in for tax returns using Tax software (its not the softwares fault to be clear) and getting returns sent to bogus accounts. Before you say "Let'em I aint getting no return" realize they are not actually doing your real returns. They are making it up to maximize the return knowing the IRS is strapped and will payout in many cases. When the IRS does figure it out... If you were supposed to get money back it can take from 12-18 months to clear it all up.... If on the other hand you owe taxes the penalties and the money given out still has you on the hook. My CPA has had two clients get hit with this, a fellow CPA had some of his get hit, my Dad's CPA had some...... This is real. Intuit (Turbo Tax) shutdown State returns last week trying to fix this, others will follow..
The reason for this comes from all the hacks and poor security that you see in the news about loosing your PII (Personally Identifiable Information) like what just hit Anthem Medical.
Truth!
One thing my tax person told me: if you donate stuff that ends up worth more than $400 for the year (Goodwill, Disabled Vets, various causes, etc) take pictures of the items because the IRS is starting to crack down on donations without proof. The little slip of paper that you write down the value is no longer good enough.
I need to figure out my business taxes. Wonder if I'll owe anything for not having really done anything last year. No money made, just money spent.

Unless the return on your deductions is a pay out for you, Don't bother.

Should I take pics of the deadbeat transient, the corner beggar, the vagrant...? Just to prove I give a $hiat?

Most of those places will either give you proof when you donate or send you a statement. I know the Denver Rescue Mission does. I believe you have to ask for it though.

Remember when they said Obamacare was a "tax"? They weren't kidding... Sheesh! These new rates are just crazy! I don't pay the gubment early, they gotta wait for their $$$ like the rest of the world does.
NFA tax stamps should be tax deductible. [gohome]

If Lois Lerner can do it, so can you. Your logic is sound. [Awesom]
