I can't help but wonder if Biden was chosen as a calculated move to ensure Obama was not removed from office mid-term... having him inherit the office would be even more of a joke.

Probably a slip up in his speech, good for a chuckle. The one that creeps me out was him whispering to the seemingly underage girl on stage with him and her family.

Even GWB had plenty of slip ups and mispronunciations that were snicker worthy.

The article I saw said people tried to make it seem like it was a slip-up but it obviously wasn't. Aforementioned article also claimed there were a couple accepted definitions of the phrase including one that essentially said "someone very close to the speaker". Sorry, I've only ever heard that phrase in one context however, like Dave, I'm more creeped out by his apparent blatant pedophilia and the media's attempts to cover up for him.
