Howdy all!
First and foremost may you all have a great Valentines Day!

Now on to business.
As many know I returned to full time employment last summer running a machine shop. Heavy and physical work.
A few months ago I was at work and felt a twinge in my elbow while tightening the chuck on the big lathe.
No big deal, I figured I just pulled a muscle or strained something, not unexpected as it has been a while since I did heavy work like this and I'm not 20 years old anymore.
I worked through it, it was sore and I figured it would go away.
Well, it hasn't. I went to the Dr and lo and behold, I managed to tear the muscles and tendons where they attach to the bone in my elbow.

To make a long story short I will be having surgery in a couple of weeks to repair the damage. I will not have tangible use of my left arm for 6-8 weeks post surgery so during that period I will not be doing much Gunsmithing work.

Just wanted to let my peeps know in advance.

Thank You

Your dominant arm? that would suck. I had surgery on my elbow for neurological issues before. Sucks, there are all sorts of things both public and private that become remarkably hard to adjust to your non dominant hand. Follow the physical therapy to stretch your muscles and tendons out for full range of motion to the letter. It took a long time for me to be able to fully extend my arm. All my work was done at Panorama Orthopedic.

He's not a follower of Islam. So either hand is fine......[Tooth] Learning to wipe with the other hand is a pain.

Sorry to hear Bert, and wishing you a speedy recovery.
And as others have mentioned, I almost got a completed pile of parts I was going to bring you around the end of the month when I can afford the last bits. Guess I'll have to break out my angle grinder & 5 lb single jack and put it all together myself.

I thought Dark Smith Lords always came in pairs? The master and the apprentice. So was it your apprentice that got to you? You can tell us. [Coffee]

Have you gone through the catalog to see what types of implants you are going to get to replace the OEM parts? Be careful choosing the German parts. I hear they are pricey but well made. When they go on the fritz you may wind up embarrassing yourself making saluting motions at inappropriate times and in groups that might be offended. Tell the Doc red loctite, because you don't want that thing coming loose again.

You know where I am big boy and just how fast I can get there. [Beer]

If it's a rude German Doc, don't let them install anything backwards!
