View Full Version : CCI Quiet ammo, .22lr, 15-22 with a can...results
It won't cycle any of my semi-auto .22 pistols with my can, but I just ran a mag through my S&W 15-22 with the Tactical Innovations Stratus can and it cycled perfectly. I've got a thousand rounds of it, so I'm pleased.

Has a Ruger SR22 been on that list? I just picked one up and am hoping that after some polishing, it might run the CCI Quiet.
I'm working on my 10/22 in an effort to get it to cycle the the stuff. Currently, it won't even try. I've got some parts on order that may get me closer. We'll see.

Screw your environment! I'm doing it for MY environment! And, BTW, that's the same guys I got my carbon credits from! Inexpensive, and they will deliver for a nominal fee.

It wouldn't cycle my SR22, even with the can on it. Nice quiet single shot, though! Won't cycle the M&P22 either.

I don't have an SR22 so I can't experiment, but for those that have 10/22's and want to run the subsonic stuff, get the Kidd reduced recoil spring (I think it's the white one in their 3-pack).

I picked up a few adapters for my 10/22 mags. The block allows use of 22 short in the mag.

It's the one without paint (white is standard, red is high velocity). I just put one in about an hour ago. :)
That was one of the things I ordered that I mentioned before. Of the 5 different types of subsonic I tried, the 10/22 cycled most of them just fine. This include CCI Subsonic (NOT CCI Quiet), Aguilla, American Eagle, and Remington. There was the occasional FTE/stovepipe (mostly with Aguilla) but otherwise it ran fine. I believe the reduced weight recoil spring will bump the reliability up to the same levels I expect with standard velocity.
Every single CCI Quiet that I shot was a FTE. If they still won't cycle with the lighter spring (which I suspect), I'll chamfer the bolt and see how that works.
I haven't even shot the SR22 yet (stupid weather). Hopefully I'll get a chance soon and see how it does with subsonic.
On a topic completely unrelated to subsonic ammo, I also put an auto bolt release in the 10/22. Holy crap, why didn't I do that sooner?

I always thought that would be a great idea but could never find someone who made one. A quick google search shows lots of options now. I guess I should pay more attention. Thanks for the update!
CCI greentag is still subsonic, isn't it?

I think it's right on the edge. They don't label it as subsonic, but it's something like 1070 fps. I haven't shoot the green in a long time but I know other stuff labeled as 1050 fps is subsonic. In my hazy memories, I don't recall the green having the supersonic "crack."
