Yessss. My wife has been tracking this and I have all the reminders set and the DVR programmed.
Who's Rollo going to piss off this season? Still think him & That crack head Floki have something to settle.
All Hail the new King,,Bjorn
Anyone read Bernard Cornwell's Warrior Chronicles? Historical fiction by the same author as the Sharpe series but these are set in the war for England between the Saxons and the Danes around the time of Alfred the Great.
You ever wonder what kind of impact a modern rifle would have, back in thar era?

Wonder no longer.

Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our Viking lives.
Great show! Wish I had cable....
Been waiting for the new season, the DVR is set.

I haven't for that era, but imagine what one semi-auto AR could do in the American Revolution. All those British soldiers lined up in neat rows with bright red coats on, and only a Brown Bess to return fire.

We go to the library weekly.... Jeffco has a great selection!

Uh, Harry Turtledove has written extensively in this fictional genre.
I can't for the life of me wonder why this would even be interesting. To each his own.

Yes, I just read the latest one, The Empty Throne. I like them a lot. I thought the plots in the Sharpe series started getting a bit repetitive, but the Warrior Chronicles don't seem to suffer from that.
Watching the first season, at about episode four. (When) Does it pick-up?

Watched it last night. It is starting to really become a soap opera. However, the gals are pretty darn good looking. Needs more Viking violence and deeds of glory!

Try the 1632 series by Eric Flint. Excellent alternative history series involving a modern West Virginia town suddenly transplanted in Europe AD 1632.

Most excellent series. Waiting for the next to come out. The battle at the school when Gustavus & his crew arrive.

That is next for me. I just finished Pagan Lord the 7th book. All of Cornwell's books have the same formula and they all rely on the same type of protagonist to lead you through the historical events Cornwell wants to describe. I have to take breaks from his books, because the patterns can become tiresome, but overall, I like Utred, Richard, Nathaniel, Thomas, etc... They have provided some very enjoyable travels through well researched actual history.
I realize there are people who like alternative history, but I just can't find the time to actually read enough real history to spend time on fiction fantasy passing itself off as what if history. Just my personal preference.

I have mixed feelings about what Disney is doing with the Marvel universe, I like most of the individual movies but I hate The Avengers. It could have more to do with Joss Whedon though.

HE'S A WITCH, BURN HIM.
Some do some don't. I find it fitting a man whose Firefly series was cancelled before it got off the ground, has made such a come back. So to speak. He's laughing every time he dirves past Fox on the way to the bank.
Even more interesting, Fox is picking up one of the Marvel series this year.

I wasn't impressed with "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." when I saw it but I only gave it 2-3 episodes before deleting it off my DirecTV DVR. I liked what they've done with the movies, particularly how they've portrayed Hawkeye, but I hate the idea they're going to the Civil War storyline for the next Captain America movie. I detested Civil War and most of what I've read of Captain America in the 2000s from the Winter Soldier storyline through the assassination of Captain America. It all struck me as left-wing pseudo-liberty propaganda, especially Civil War.

I binged Season 1 on Netflix over the course of a week. Got antsy and ended up buying Season 2 on iTunes.
Well, you might be able to go to the History Channel's site and watch the past episodes. I'm not sure.

Tonight is the restart of Season 2. Is Amazon counting it as season 3?
