I would like to get some kind of recoil reduction stock for my Saiga 12 conversion. I'm not a fan of ATI stuff, if it was much lower priced I might try it, but not at that price.

Muzzle devices really help the saiga 12. I had a tromix that reduced 10% or more

Thanks GK some interesting stuff to try. I'm still trying to assemble everything to do the conversion and don't know what stock I'll be going with. I'm stuck between going with a standard AK type or an AR tube type or even a side folder.

You have a side folding trunnion installed, Or working with an ACE / rifleworks unit? It's an AK go traditional.

I have been looking at the ACE type hinge that fits without changing the trunnion. I'm dragging my feet because I still have to cut the tabs off. I don't really want an AR tube on it, just doesn't look right. I already have a couple of Arsenals AK's that are non folding so leaning toward folder for something different.

I have a bonesteel folding mechanism that I don't use anymore. You don't have to cut the tab off to use it. If you are interested shoot me a PM.

my favorite recoil management system is an east german side folding stock ;) but seriously for that kind of money you might want to invest in a combloc sidefolder as they never drop in price while non correct American plastic furniture always goes down in value.

Decided to go with the ATI StrikeForce Elite w/ Scorpion Recoil System ($144 - from ATI directly). I like it.. Took a little bit of work to get everything to fit well. The upper and lower hand guards needed a little of modification in order to get the gas tube to sit properly. Wouldn't consider it a drop in, at least on my model.. The product seems to be of good quality. Grips are nice, stock is fully adjustable and now I can fire the gun without feeling like I'm a 10 foot tall giant shooting a gun designed for a 5 foot nothing nomadic tribesman. Also comes with front upper, lower and side mount Picatinny rails (not installed) or optional cover plates for the rail mounts (installed).

It's a budget level AK model. Lipstick on a pig perhaps but the lookie-loos and home invaders won't know.

I kinda figured that that would be the reaction from a good bunch.. The old furniture was clean but wasn't quality and the stock was so short that there may as well not even been one..

I prefer the before also but the ATI doesn't look as clunky as I figured it would. And now you have the LOP you need without putting an AR tube and stock on, which I think looks awful.

You could have asked here, Or ordered in a Nato length butt stock. THEN contacted Zteknik about refinishing .

The stock just makes it more controllable. Thank god for Gov. D*ckenpooper's high cap mag law. It is actually saving me money on ammo, only being able to fire 15 rounds at a time.[Sarcasm2] It's a good thing I reload.
