View Full Version : circular saw blade sharpening
Anyone have experience with the various tools?
My dad got the harbour freight sharpener and said it gets one one edge sharper than dull but not close to factory sharp.
I have 7.25 10 and 12 inch saws of various types and paying $50 because the blade is dull gets old so now I think I need a power tool for my power tool maintenance.
I go thru tons of 7.25 probably 4 10 and 12 in blades per year.

Depending on need, I would be skeptical of the Harbour Freight sharpener being up to snuff.
Childers Sharpening Service
Vexor
I have used both(managed cabinet/ctop plant) with excellent results and good pricing.
Last circular saw blade I sharpened was 38". One file and an afternoon.
Does COOP, in Brighton, sharpen anything. Don't know Greeley as well but I'd bet someone does.
McGukin's, in Boulder, will sharpen most anything. Most being sent out to vendors.

Yeah, Mcguckin's ships the blades out, turnaround is one week as of the last time I had a blade sharpened there.

Most stores send them out to Childers or Vexor. Actually both Vexor and Childers pick them up at the store and return week later.
Like my chain saw if is send out every blade I have for sharpening I can buy the tool outright id like to get the tools and save money in the long run

Get something better than Harbor Freight. Poor quality sharpening causes as many or more problems than dull.

Not really, never could find a way to make it cost effective to sharpen our own. Would have to offer other shops sharpening service to justify professional grade equipment.

Maybe even less. I found an older one, that I re-purposed and it was a bit less. I felt bad not using it for blades, but it is a solid grinder for my needs.
